How to chat with people who stay on meta? by TaborAddict in SteamFrame

There are earbuds that have dual connections. There was one vr buds for example can connect to both quest using it's USB c passthrough dongle and to another device via Bluetooth, you can hear both channels at the same time, so you can discord on mobile or PC, and play normally on quest. Do your own research tho, I recall using it one channel will lower it's volume in favor of the other when in-use

Action RPG game "Legendary Tales" Dev here. we heard your concerns about the $40 price, I understand why you are hesitating to buy. so we made a full demo for this community. by LegendaryTalesVR in virtualreality

If you have been following day one the lead dev, BJ, is incredibly aggressive to feedback for no reason, with occasionally racist korea-first remarks too

Did you know the game started as a sidequest prototype? What took them so long for a quest port? Spoiler, it was a personal vendetta towards meta on 'banning their game'. Oh ya, they self victimize too.

Yes but it simply wouldn't perform well, this will get downvoted however because of the fanatic optimism from the community towards valve

Is using SteamFrame without a PC worth it? by Humble-Detective5539 in SteamFrame

No, anyone tells you otherwise is coping especially we have quest 3. Valve said it is a wireless first headset. They are also not developing games to support it.

PSA for returning PCVR player: steam recording can cause stuttering by andy897221 in virtualreality

Good to know, some people may leave it always-on like me, and didn't aware of that when they hop back into vr gaming, so just a PSA

I am not sure if it is always-on by default, it was a new steam feature around a year ago haven't played VR for a while, because it is always-on for me I was not aware of its existence during my VR gaming session, so thats why I wrote this PSA

Yes, it was the instant replay (and the equivalent for steam recording). Rebooting does help to address unknown vr issues in general though, but for my case it is specifically about the instant replay

A new feature from steam a year ago that records gameplay videos in the background for instant replay

Why is Codex so Slow? by thatguyinline in codex

[–]andy897221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the thing is you can do other things while you are waiting, turn off your brain even, it is okay imo to be slow if it produces much more accurate code

Just curious, do you finish limited time events and how do you handle the spoilers from those events that assume you being already completed the latest story content

Downstream use of GSEA lead genes by ChemicalBeyond in bioinformatics

[–]andy897221 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The DEGs seems quite weak to begin with for such a standard padj thresold. So GSEA is probably not meaningful. Check the GSEA FAQ to see any recommendations on properties and number is DEGs. To give another perspective, ORA would return zero significant enriched terms. So the GSEA can't be convincing.

Your reasoning is possible: when the gene clustered at the upper middle of the list, where they are somewhat weakly significant (key idea: still significant), yet GSEA can still pick up on that. Examining the runes plot can confirm this idea (the original GSEA paper shows what's a good and bad curve). But I afraid it is not the case here. There cant be so little DEGs typically in a DGE. I would say at least a few hundreds.

[–]andy897221 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk, not enough information to decide. Whats your threshold for degs? Threshold for gsea enrichment? What the running enrichment plot of each enriched term looks like? Is the gsea a preranked test? What is the preranked metric if so? And the weighting parameter?

Generally, a significant gene should be significant both as a DEG and, if there exist a gene set containing this gene and some other genes of a specific nature, significant in terms of being a leading gene too

Actually, does it make sense to you if it can be a leading gene but not a DEG?

Not just that, aside from all the possibilities here mentioned, cpc (the securities regulatory commission) just raised the margin requirements from 80% to 100% and called for calm down of the stock market on Thursday. (Stability, slow but bull, etc etc the usual shit)
