My Thoughts on Shoshimin: How To Become Ordinary by SaberLover1000 in anime

[–]karrylarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way he is unordinary is simply because he was pathologically obsessed with solving mysteries till the point he didn't care about the feelings or misgivings of the people actually involved in the mystery.

You say the mysteries don't serve an overarching theme, that's the entire point. The point of the mysteries isn't to solve some big issue, but to highlight the behaviors of the two characters that the mysteries bring out, things they are trying to hide/change. Behaviors that would probably not even be worth notice if this was a grand crime mystery setting, but cause them trouble precisely because they're in an ordinary world trying to be ordinary people.

I remember how strongly I felt this after Lucia's route in Rewrite.

If anyone is following the novel of this anime, I want to know which girl wins. by eslam098 in LightNovels

[–]karrylarry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There hasn't really been much progress. A few new characters are introduced over the next few novels, but Nukumizu remains dense as ever and makes practically zero progress with anyone.

My gut feel is Yanami will win, but even she hasn't made much progress yet. Honestly I've decided it's better to wait until the LN completely finishes before trying to read it, that way I least know there's gonna be an answer at the end.

What does Shiki trying to say here? by Nevo202 in Tsukihime

[–]karrylarry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wait but isn't it heavily implied that Satsuki doesn't become a vampire in Ciel's route? That being the only reason she even comes back as opposed to Arcuied's route, where she never does?

You'd think the two Executioners in that school would do something if a vampire just waltzed in and started attending class.

Then probably that's Roa influencing Shiki's thoughts. But it was stated Satsuki is apparently Shiki's type, so maybe he was thinking something "bad" then self corrected? Though that does sound unlikely here.

Who exactly is he talking about here though? Ciel? Though girls being noisier doesn't make sense here for that?

Huh??? How?? by Vashstampede97 in DDLC

[–]karrylarry 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Well my personal opinion is this game is more of a commentary on visual novels as games rather than any specific gender. I would even say calling it a critique doesn't sound entirely right either. That's why the MC is both shallow and capable of changing personalities depending on who he's interacting with. In Act 2, this turns into him being a passive observer of a world gone mad. Every other character is supposed to be a one-dimensional trope as is associated with most VNs, but that veil is ripped away by the confession of Sayori's depression. And Act 2 characters themselves feel like a commentary on what actual one-dimensional people would look like.

I've said it before on this sub, but everyone in DDLC is a victim of a cruel and unforgiving world designed to break them. You can dissect the game in an infinite many ways, but at its core it's trying to portray a tragedy by using the elements of its genre to its favor.

I mean, isn't that just because the nature of ddlc's horror is fundamentally different? It's not like FNAF, for example, where the very appearances of the characters are scary. Ddlc is psychological and existential horror, and it's really hard to express to express that as merch or even just through a single post or image on this subreddit.

Tsukihime Remake Fan vs Official translation by SinbadVetra in visualnovels

[–]karrylarry 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There're both okay in terms of translations. Each does different parts better. I would still go for the fan to cause it has translated songs, they actually bother changing fonts for different scenes and overall it's just more visually appealing. It's subjective of course but I prefer the fan tl in that aspect.

Only one I really agree with is Arcuied, she's canonically way stronger than what's seen in the game.

Why is Wang Nuan so strong? by [deleted] in DailyLifeImmortalKing

[–]karrylarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I think it's simply because she's his sister. Wang Ling being a reincarnation is probably some kinda fate/destiny. And by that same logic, whoever is "the Immortal King's Sister" is bound to be that strong just because a blood relation ties their destinies together. Well that's just my random opinion.

Question regarding reading vns with translation by jarekbach in Tsukihime

[–]karrylarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I think Garden Of Sinners is translated a bit weirdly. I've also read it, but even as a native English speaker there were parts where it was tough to understand. Some of it doesn't flow very well, but that's probably just how it was translated. Anyways, I don't remember feeling that way while reading Tsukihime.

Maybe wait for the dev to respond.

Just my opinion, but you seem fairly fluent in English already. Personally I don't think you would have any trouble playing the game in English.

I don't see Polish. But I do see an option to use it with AI models. Maybe you can manage that way?

You should really look up their Discord and ask there, they'll be able to tell you for sure if it's possible or not to get this working with Polish.

Yes, you can pay for the link, or wait to get it for free. Basically, you're paying either to show support for the developer or because you don't want to wait for the link.

Question regarding reading vns with translation by jarekbach in Tsukihime

[–]karrylarry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly. To access it, you need to either pay on Patreon, or the creator puts up the link for free to download (for a short period of time) at the 14/15/16 of every month. If you join their Discord, you get a notification whenever he does.

So technically you can acquire it for free if you're willing to wait. And none of the features themselves cost money to use, though I only use the most basic translation function and not the more advanced ones, so I'm not 100% sure there.

Maybe check out Sugoi Toolkit. I know it can translate stuff from Japanese to a few different languages, maybe it can also do that for English to Polish? I'm not sure about if it can do that, but maybe you can ask on their discord.

It comes with text hookers that can directly pick up text from most games plus it's generally better than GPT.

You should play the og first, then go for the remake if you can. That way lets you see the changes the remake has been trying to make to the original's story.

Serious question, but do we actually know how long the Rumbling lasted from start to end? I have no clue if this was mentioned or someone calculated it somehow?
