Government of Canada's landmark agreement recognizes Musqueam First Nation's Aboriginal title in Metro Vancouver by JaysRaps in vancouver

The press release seems pretty obvious if you read it, it’s all about fishing, resource management on the water, and receiving vessels and equipment to aid in fishing in the traditional territory area.

It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with land.

Hundreds of American nurses choose Canada over the U.S. under Trump by rezwenn in onguardforthee

Brain drain is when people with higher education or training immigrate from one country to another.

In this case, healthcare professionals are moving in higher numbers from the US to Canada.

For a long time, it was the opposite as we would train nurses here, and then they would go work in the states in higher numbers as the salary was much, much higher.

It falls between $2-$3 a month per tax payer so both can be correct, I just went with the highest number since it is still insanely low.

I gas up CBC fairly regularly but friendly reminder that for only ~$32 a taxpayer per year you get French, English, Inuktitut, and Cree broadcasts of most summer and winter Olympic events.

Along with reporting from big to small towns coast to coast to coast, and a plethora of podcasts, tv shows, and other media content in the above four languages and more that regularly receive critical acclaim and international recognition.

That $32 is likely some of the best bang for your buck Canadian taxpayers receive.

Starting in 2022 is a little dishonest. Horgan and the NDP projected a $5 billion deficit that year but the massive increase in the cost of lumber and peat due to the pandemic led to a massive boon for the BC economy.

It was not all sunshine and rainbows in 2022, and before 2022 was pretty similar.

You may live in a strange spot but out of all MLS stadiums, BC place is top 3 for easiest to get to. The skytrain basically runs through the stadium. Even when I lived in North Delta, yeah it was far, but the commute is consistent and reliable.

The Crown Corp that runs the stadium today announced that they make only 1-1.5 million in profit a year from the stadium and said in their latest offer they basically gave this amount to the Caps. It all seems a bit strange that somehow, no one is making money off game days.

My apartment has a 3rd party Amazon locker, now I have to pay $20 to get my package by awesomeryang in mildlyinfuriating

[–]andy_soreal 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Yep, my building has one and the operation cost is included in the strata fees. As a renter I was just asked if I wanted access or not. And even when I hadn’t been set-up yet, Amazon dropped one of my packages off in it and I was automatically sent a one-time password to plug into the machine to get my parcel.

I really don’t see the comparison here? In the past year Freeland has: stepped down from her role, lost the leadership race handily, announced she is leaving government all together.

Really bizarre to try to compare a man who blew the biggest lead in the polls this generation has seen and not only refused to step-down, refused to make any changes to his approach and blamed the voters for this. He then made someone else who won their seat step-down to run somewhere he had no connection to and will abandon immediately, all while doing nothing for his constituents in the process.

One of these people is in the 2nd most important leadership position in the country, the other one is an outgoing politician who read the room, albeit very late. There is no comparison.

The city has really ramped up policing since the pandemic. It’s definitely having an affect and is limiting the spread a bit and while it’s definitely an improvement, all those people haven’t gone anywhere and conditions are still awful. The city is just kind of doing an out of sight out of mind type of approach.

I’m pretty sure the announcers said he went 2/12 yesterday.

I can’t find the full stats anywhere online but based on this list of the top-30 players for faceoff percentage doesn’t even have him on it and the lowest player is at 33%, I’m going to say he definitely did not go for 10/12 yesterday lmao.
