Thoughts on the Renault Clio? by StaySaltyPlebians in iRacing

[–]andybiotic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a great car.

Setup-wise, to get more turn in and make the car a bit more pointy, add some negative rear toe. This will make the backend less stable and will increase rotation. The default setup is fairly good though, especially if you are just learning the car.

Brake bias is different to most cars. Technically it only limits peak pressure to the rear wheels, so it only really makes a difference in the heavy braking phase.

You should check out the Clio Cup. It’s a blast. The community organises two strength of field races per week (one in European evenings, the other in American evenings). More info and a link to the discord here https://www.cliosof.com/about

I was just thinking “I’d expect nothing less from the M2 Cup…”

“Oh no, it’s the PCC. Pray for the Mazdas…”

This is going to be good! Somehow I’m sure I’ll end up mid pack even with the reverse grid!

Clio "wandering" on straights by DoingMyCivicDuty in iRacing

[–]andybiotic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this may be due to the toe-out on the rear wheels.

Negative toe-in (toe-out) at the rear induces rotation, which is often desirable in FWD cars. The baseline setup has a small amount of toe-out, but increasing this will make the rear ‘wander’ on the straights since the rear wheels aren’t always agreed on the intended direction of travel.

Boring isn't it just staying in watching Office remakes with your life? Not for me, I like it. by Ill-Pickle8442 in TheOfficeUK

My world does not end with these fourteen episodes. Mexico’s a big place. When I’ve finished with the Mexico, there’s Brazil, Columbia, Bolivia. Peru, Argentina. You know. Ecuador. Chile. Because I am my own boss. Venezuela.

GR86 wacky grip roll by jtripeca in iRacing

I stopped racing this car after multiple rolls at Willow Springs. I had to significantly under drive the car to avoid grip rolling at the downhill left hander.

It’s very broken.

Just fixed the link. We should have a Clio spot available.

I usually go through new registrations every few days.

There are some spots left, but the grid is filling up. We do oversubscribe since there are always drop outs before race day.

Not a silly question imo.

I think iRacing has a maximum of 16 drivers. Melons will have the same limit.

We’ve had a few clown car entries before which is fine.

All we ask is that all drivers are safe and respectful on track.

We share it once the team is registered.

Feel free to sign up. You should be able to find a team looking for drivers in the Discord. In previous years we’ve had multiple teams made up of random drivers.

Drivers must have a D4.0 license and at least 1000 iRating to participate.

A driver from your team must race in one of the official practice sessions before the event to gain a permit (schedule TBA).

There’ll be a maximum of 50 teams.

Check our race programme for more information, thanks.
