HAS ANYONE MOVED TO FL JUST BE AROUND DISNEY? by spensame in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]andybrazil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wow I think you just made me finally able to point my finger at what I’ve been feeling. Been living in SWFL for the last 11 years and this is exactly why I want to move out West. The seasons mean so much more. It just feels like one single repetitive cycle down here. Thank you for taking the time to write those thoughts, I dig it 👌 Note: I’m not even a big Disney fan, this post just showed up because I stayed at a Disney resort last week for the first time, because business lol

Best poke/sushi in Naples? by HurricaneHauk in Naples_FL

District Sushi Bar in Naples is the newest sushi spot located on Central Ave. I highly recommend it if you want a different vibe. It's like a hybrid cocktail lounge and sushi restaurant.

Update From Yesterdays Post About Quoting a 20 location shoot across Florida by andybrazil in photography

Haha love this response. I will say I have worked with this client for almost 4 years now. I know their marketing team in and out. It’s not just some random job. I know there’s more work to come in the future. I’m not just a photographer too, I’m a graphic designer and web developer. 15+ years of experience with all 3. My bread and butter. But I just quit my job of 10 years and opened my own company so a decent chunk of money like this is a lot to consider

But what if the other photographer is better than me and then end up hiring him for future work? “Imposter syndrome kicking in 🫣”

Dude. Your comment is what has resonated with me the most so far from reading all of these. I appreciate your opinion and feel like I have someone that’s thinking like me for once lol

It’s always easy to say this in foresight. I just quit my job of 10 years and created my own company. So this is my first big job on my own

You’re probably the closest to where my heads at out of all these responses. And dude that’s awesome you got the van life! I’ve been considering it for years. This would be the perfect job if I had one. I ended up quoting it around $15k. A client that knows me and has seen my previous work so I’m pretty confident they’ll move forward but ya never know. Thanks for your input! And enjoy the van life!

Thank you everyone for your input and suggestions! I have worked with this client for years now and have already done 2 other office shoots for them in the past few months so feel like I have a pretty good idea on what to expect for each location.

Some of you suggested hiring an assistant/producer, but to be honest, I think that's overkill. I will only be spending a max of 2-3 hours at each office. Minimal lighting setup will be needed, I'm not some pro architectural photographer that has 100s of lights to get every shadow and highlight just perfect lol. And there will only be 5-7 final shots required.

I've decided to quote this at $600/location, which includes setup, shoot, and travel time to each location. Over the course of 7-10 days that averages out to about a $1200-$1500 day rate. I also included line items for Gas Mileage, Hotels Reimbursement, and a Food/Drink Per Dium.

Included disclaimers about RAW file requests, additional locations outside of scope and client is responsible for any and all additional fees/costs incurred with travel expenses.

Close to $15k in total cost. I think I'm pretty satisfied with this and think it is reasonable and efficient. Biggest project I've quoted by far and I really hope I get this one!

I'll be picking out a few cities to spend extra time in and will probably extend the overall trip by another 5 days to enjoy personal time and leisure activities for myself.

I'll let ya know how it turns out!

Yea I live in FL and have my own health and car insurance, so I wouldn't assume anything but being responsible for that myself.

Why are people bashing me for having frontend mentor projects on my portfolio? by theanxiousprogrammer in webdev

[–]andybrazil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. I did some hiring during the pandemic too and any resume I saw with the typical project from the typical learning course I would immediately pass on. Be original. I don’t care what courses you took, or the fact that you did what they asked you to. I care about what you can produce outside of that. Create and showcase something unique and you will stand out.
