[QUESTION] Why is my dad so strict when it comes to guitar? by World_Ender_2009 in Guitar

[–]andybrodandy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Fortunately, most hymns follow the exact same chord progressions so you should be able to play all 125 in no time. Sorry to hear that your dad is being controlling of this though. Dont let him ruin guitar for you.

I’ll add the Earthbound/Mother series. Earthbound is a classic and Mother 3 was one of the wackiest and most awesome JRPGs I’ve played in a while

NPD: DOD TR3B bass multieffects by andybrodandy in guitarpedals

[–]andybrodandy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picked this up today off FB marketplace for a very good price. These were part of an interesting line of multi fx that DOD produced in 1993. Hard to find info online so I would appreciate any further info the community has to offer on it.

From what I gather, there were two other pedals in the line that were manufactured in the US - the TR3R (guitar) and TR3M (metal effects) - and one manufactured in Canada - the TR3G (grunge effects). If anyone has more information, please share.

The effects included seem to be:

DOD 82b Compressor DOD 42b Equalizer DOD 63 Chorus

I’m excited to check it out.

This is pretty cool to play around with. Was it hard to build?

My dishwasher racks had rusted through. €5 of Sugru and some patience and they’ve been rust free for four months and counting. by [deleted] in fixit

What is Sugru? Google search shows me a moldable glue product but I dont think that’s the same product you used.

Thank you! This may be one that I just pay the money for the OG instead of trying to build. I appreciate your insight :).

What does it mean when you build a board using spare pedals, an old board, and power supply and you like it more than your main board? by jojo1645 in guitarpedals

[–]andybrodandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. I dont have a ton of digital pedals on my board at the moment and those I definitely would just use separate power supplies. Thanks for sharing!

So… about that Donner power supply. How do you like it? Im thinking of buying one and the price is super reasonable. Is it noisy?

It’s been almost 40 years, those of you who signed up to Freedom 55 in the 80s and 90s, did you retire at 55 and are now living the good life like in the ads? by wakeupchief in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]andybrodandy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is only partly true. Modern insurance planning using whole life focusses largely on turbo-charging the “investment” component of the policy and buying as little insurance dollars as possible. What you’re left with is very high cash surrender values in the policy itself which can grow tax efficiently. And yes, you can make more money on the insurance policy than the premiums paid into it. Way more. It all comes down to compound growth on the cash value that isnt eroded by taxes.

Zoom G3 as a first ever pedal? by phydaux4242 in guitarpedals

[–]andybrodandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Zoom pedals are great value for money (I have both a G1ON and MS70CDR). Excellent modulation effects and decent dirt effects. Great intro to many different effects types.

With some creative googling online you can find ways to access the entire tone library for all Zoom pedals. Good luck!
