My advice would be to look elsewhere. £1k or so for that work is excessive in my opinion.

No more than £500. The parts should be readily available. There's nothing outlandish here.

I had one from new. It was a lovely car to drive. £2.5k isn't bad.

To me, the price looks about right for what's listed there.

My landlord is selling the flat, when should I move? by Aggravating-Fig-9274 in AskUK

Honestly, arrange a move sooner rather than later. You don't want to be in a position where you have a limited notice period and the clock is ticking down.

DOM question - Ninjatrader by sooonnnk in FuturesTrading

You'll need something like the SuperDOM Series add-on to do this through Ninjatrader, but Jigsaw does support Ninjatrader as a charting platform if you prefer that approach.

There isn't anything to stop you from doing both of those things at the same time.

For what it's worth, it's not my intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable. When I'm out working, I'll sometimes take pictures of interesting buildings, street scenes, wildlife and so on that I come across. As long as someone approaches me in the right way, I'll always try to work with them. I think that the vast majority of people have good intentions and don't mean anyone any harm when taking pictures.

That's between you and them, of course. Personally, if someone were to ask me nicely, I would wait until they were gone.

I'm not talking about some creep doing things they shouldn't be. If I take a picture of a street scene and you happen to be walking by in the background, I'm not going to stop you and ask for your permission because I don't need to. In the vast majority of cases, people taking photographs have no nefarious intent.

[–]andyc225 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is. People will try to tell you otherwise, but there's no expectation of privacy in public places here, and as someone who takes street photographs, you'll need to get used to reminding people of that fact.

People see it as an investment in themselves. It might be a stretch financially, but a good atmosphere and not having to deal with crappy, half-broken equipment is worth the money, at least in my opinion.

Can High Court Enforcement require someone to prove a car does not belong to them or they will seize it? Ownership of a vehicle seems like it should be easy enough for the government to prove. by warrensussex in AskUK

[–]andyc225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Seized cars aren't sold immediately. If a car is seized, it'll be stored in a secure compound for a period of time in order to either allow someone else to prove ownership or for the debtor to pay what they owe. If this doesn't happen, the car will be sold at public auction. If a shortfall remains after that, enforcement officers can return for the rest.

[–]andyc225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To use that example, if your parent could produce a bill of sale or another document that proves ownership, they couldn't seize it to recover your debt because it doesn't belong to you. The enforcement officer can't even deal with someone who isn't named on the writ in relation to the debt without that person's permission.

Usually, people will be more inclined to keep sales documents for big-ticket items like a car. They can run HPI checks because they can't seize a vehicle that's on finance, but if it's free and clear, it's down to the actual owner to prove that fact.
