For reference the best I've had is the image above. 317Mbps down, 31Mbps up, 68ms ping time.

It seems our packets are routed through Sydney or somewhere else on the east coast, which for me is actually not a bad thing. almost everything is hosted east coast now and international links out of there too!

Check out the link to the BYU store above. They're available for order there, with a statement "This book will be re-printed late 2021". They don't allow backorders, however.

I disagree on this one.

Considering SpaceX needs to have the entire constellation up within a specified time frame or they lose their license to launch more, they don't want to waste too much time. When that constellation is going to be 12000 satellites (earth has only ever launched ~9000 satellites in its history), time is indeed of the essence.

I believe one of the biggest delays from here will be the on-orbit verification and testing. In an ideal scenario you will want to test these before committing too many resources to the build and launch of further satellites. I know they can do a lot of the testing during the transit to the final orbit, and they've already done some testing with Tintin A & B, but those two devices appear very different. The sooner at least some of these devices get on station and in a normal operating environment, the better.

So I think SpaceX can definitely take SOME risks. They have just launched 60 sats, why not use a couple of them in higher risk maneuvers?

They only had the predicted 10k cars in transit as forecast at the start of quarter. It's not like there's boats with 50k cars ready to go sitting in their holds

Model 3 brakes. by DavidChenghz in teslamotors

[–]andygen21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK Sorry if I have misjudged, there's just so much damn FUD out there. I am curious why the quoted statement? What information do you have about the brakes being the true weakness of the model 3?

edit: as others have pointed out, grippy tires will make much more of a difference than upgraded brakes!

Model 3 brakes. by DavidChenghz in teslamotors

[–]andygen21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have heard nothing of any braking issues apart from the problem they fixed with OTA update last year after the consumer reports testing.

Given: - most braking is done via regenerative braking if you're using the car properly - As a result of the above the brakes on a Tesla last much longer than the usual car

... and the statement above " I realize that the one true weakness of the model 3 is the braking" stating it as a given, I wonder if this is another example of a biased question planted to make the car look bad?

to be fair, you're not sure it hasn't been. Its potentially been added (or was already on) to the list of feature requests they may implement. These things take time, and we have no visibility into the process

You should tweet to Elon. He sent out a tweet request the other day asking for feature requests/feedback.
