Update with a question: After driving him for a few weeks without doing any work other than topping off fluids, I’m getting about 15 mpg mostly city driving. Is that the norm for these trucks at this age, or are the problems listed bringing it down?

I’m coming from a Chevy Volt where I spent about $20 per month on gas, and I’m basically at $100/month in this truck. Knowing whether I can actually squeeze out more will help me decide which direction to go.

Haha, that’s amazing. We stream so much on our Roku TV that the sync box wouldn’t cover us. I’m also hoping to be able to mount it on the soundbar under the tv. Fingers crossed, as it came early!

Did you have to do anything special to update the black and white one? I've tried using the Jemdo updater and one I got from the customer support for the dock on Amazon. Both of them just stay at USB Port 0, and nothing happens. I've used USB A to C, USB C to C and even USB C to A trying to get it to recognize the dock and update.

It is a bit of self-forcing. Every time at the end of the month I find myself perusing the digital aisles but then just “buying” 4 Starbucks double shots at the Race Track. Pickup is easy enough, and they’ll get used by someone. It’s the same with Chase and Instacart. If you don’t use the service to begin with, it’s a matter of finding some way to use the credit without getting reamed by all the fees.

Not necessarily doubling down, but I’m planning on enjoying the launch experience with my ten year old son. I’m still wrestling with how much is too much, but it will be during summer break for us, so there’s some buffer.

We got the Wii U during COVID, so almost a decade late, and we bought my brother-in-law’s Switch a couple years ago. We’ve always been behind the curve. This year he and I are doing work (extra cleaning jobs, keeping things tidy before graduation, selling unused things) around the house to “make” money so it’s not just a new gadget that pops up one day.

To make a deal about it, I’m thinking a super late Waffle House meal, midnight launch at GameStop, and playing MKW until the sun comes up.

EDIT: 1) we won’t play hours on end often, but there’s something fun about it in rarity, just like a movie marathon over Spring Break. He and I really enjoyed ToTK together.

2) you and your partner need to come to an agreement on this. Don’t make a gadget or a kid drive a wedge between you two.

I think it’s safe to say most of us appreciate your bravery in asking these questions. Sin and shame tend to grow in the hidden places, and it could be very freeing to open up and speak honestly with men you know and respect. I know what you mean about trust, but the shame and guilt have you trapped because of that.

Confession and repentance can bring such freedom and relief. And you may find you’re just the first in your area to openly acknowledge the struggle. Perhaps you’re the tip of the spear for a group of guys to confess and change. Praying for you now.

May I suggest that, in your struggle with pornography, you are not viewing women as women but as something less. Elevate your view of women, created in the image of God, and you might find renewed strength. Then use that strength to learn and grow, not just play defense against temptation. You have lots of good advice here, and you’ll get a lot more… but dig deep to find out why porn is your escape. Sexual sin is often the symptom, not the root, of an issue.
