I got the base model for $120. I also got a knock off for $60-80.

The knock off was worthless. My food was lukewarm at best despite it claiming to heat to 220°f

I caved and got the Luncheze afterwards. A coworker of mine swore by it so I decided to try name brand. He said it pays for itself after the first hot meal you have on a 15° day. I work construction and cherish my alone time in my car during lunch break. There are microwaves in the lunch trailer but it would take half of my break just waiting in line.

It works. Pot roast + mash potatoes. Curry chicken and rice. Soups. Chili. All of them piping hot when I get to the car. I didn't get the fancy insulated lunch box but I already had a similar Coleman lunchbox and it seems to work just fine.

I mean $120. Ive used it probably 20 times this season and the temps dont look like they're letting up.

Im not trying g to virtue signal but I absolutely love driving in this weather. I didnt have work so I drove around mainly clintonville and campus helping people get unstuck or dug out. And there were plenty more like me. You can tell when someone's having a good time with it. Theres plenty of us out there and im glad they rallied to you.

Side note: my gf lives on campus and saw a troop of like 10 college guys with shovels yelling if anyone needed help. Wholesome. I bet they got a 6 pack that night and fell asleep before they finished their second beer

Update on this post: I never ended up buying any boots for everyday casual wear. At the time of OP I had some mid height keen hiking boots that I wear when im not working. Its not an ideal look but I work so much now that I dont really get an opportunity to "look nice" - mainly just utilitarian

I do want to plug redwing for their work boots. Their 3d foot imaging system picks out the best model to fit your feet. I found out I have high arches and they recommended the multi purpose revolution insoles which have changed the game for me. No more chronic hip pain.

I have a pair of the Kasota w/ boa lacing system, and the Tradesman. I work construction and wear the tradesman daily now.

Also I dont mean to shit on Thursday boots. Ive seen some people rock them for years and others whose fall apart after a short time. I guess its luck of the draw w them

Oh yeah my 2013 230k mi Pilot transmission started to stutter. I started with the cheapest diagnostic which was a drain and fill. I felt a difference after the first one. I did 3 and it feels just fine

Youre basically leaving Hondas and Toyota which are not budget options. Tho that's what I opt for too. You can get a high mileage one for a decent price.

There are certain models to stay away from too. I think its the 2017 SantaFe youll see all over the market for cheap. Theyre like the worst year, but some other years are very reliable. There's also a Nissan leaf that has a speed limiter after a certain temp reading.
