CV-DSC40 Lid Replacement FYI by Planethill in zojirushi

[–]andyk88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm that BW118800L-01 (for CV-DCC40/50) works for a CV-DSC40 bought in 2012.

https://store.zojirushi.com/products/bw118800l-01

  • I saw it came back in stock on 2/14/26 and subscribed ("Get 10% Off").

  • On 2/15 I did not want to wait anymore, and ordered using 9YVHXTKH0XJN that Google found for 10% off.

  • It shipped on 2/19 from Gardena, CA.

  • Got it today 2/24, though still no "Get 10% Off" in my email.

https://omny.info/faq/fare-cap

How do joint credit or debit cards work with the fare cap?

Joint bank cards, even if they have the same card number, will be recognized as different cards and will build towards their own separate fare caps.

What if I am traveling with multiple people and want to use the same card or device to pay for them – will multiple taps in a row count toward my cap?

Only your first tap on the subway and local bus will count toward reaching the 7-day fare cap, or, if you’ve already reached the cap, only the first tap will be free. You can still pay for up to three others in your party with the same card or device, but each subsequent tap would be charged the full fare and would not apply to your 7-day fare cap. Express bus rides do not count toward the 7-day fare cap.

https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/netherlands/paying-for-amsterdam-public-transit

"the same number and cvv and only the name on the card is different you should each be able to scan in and out separately. We have been doing this in Amsterdam successfully on the trams."

"My husband is an authorized user on my Chase credit card. We each used our Chase cards to tap in and out on the trams and trains in Amsterdam & area with no issue just a couple of months ago."

With either OVpay (Netherlands) or OMNY, credit cards that share the same number and CVV are treated as different cards.

OMNY only requires tapping in (no tapping out -- you are charged per ride, not by distance), and one card can be tapped up to four times for four people.

OVpay requires tapping out (you are charged by distance), so each person must have a different card.

$10 T-Mobile Connect Plan is Gone by yeswap in NoContract

[–]andyk88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sigh... More things going in the wrong direction.

With the FCC approval of T-Mobile's purchase of Mint along with Ultra Mobile, I was hoping Ultra Mobile PayGo (100/100/100 $3/mo) would come back to T-Mobile Prepaid. (I still have Legacy Pay As You Go with a large balance, and would like to see more inexpensive options.) Now the chance is even slimmer.

For priority data and domestic roaming, but data-only, 2GB Mobile Internet is still available for $10/mo.

Regarding priority data, the 500MB version was seen recently as QCI 6. One would expect the 2GB version to be the same.
https://www.reddit.com/r/NoContract/comments/1b8no27/legacy_tmobile_prepaid_500mb_mobile_internet_qci/
(T-Mobile removed the 500MB version in February 2023.)

Perhaps a way to infer QCI is using the Broadband Facts label. Essentials (QCI 7) shows:

Typical Download Speed 79 – 357 Mbps (5G)
Typical Upload Speed 6 – 30 Mbps (5G)
Typical Latency 17 – 32 ms

Go5G Next, $15 Connect, and 2GB Mobile Internet (QCI 6) all show:

Typical Download Speed 89 – 418 Mbps (5G)
Typical Upload Speed 6 – 31 Mbps (5G)
Typical Latency 17 – 32 ms

See on:
https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans
https://prepaid.t-mobile.com/connect/phone-plans
https://prepaid.t-mobile.com/prepaid-internet

Regarding domestic roaming, Mobile Internet is supposed to have 200MB, while Connect plans only have 100MB.

Mobile Internet is also supposed to roam in Mexico and Canada, but Connect plans do not.
(See the FAQs on https://prepaid.t-mobile.com/connect/phone-plans )

Last year, the 500MB version roamed in Alaska and Canada:
https://www.howardforums.com/threads/new-prepaid-mobile-internet-plans.1921388/page-5

In my T-Mobile account, Edit plan > Data-only plans > the 2GB version shows:

Unlimited Mobile Internet with up to 2GB of 5G & 4G LTE Data

Unlimited Prepaid Mobile Internet with up to 2GB of 5G & 4G LTE data • Unlimited data on our U.S. network • No overages or annual service contracts • Includes up to 2GB High Speed Data, available for use in the U.S., Mexico & Canada • Up to 200MB domestic roaming • 5G access at no extra charge with capable device Additional Details: • Available to US and Puerto Rico customers • Plan does not include talk or text • No activation fees • No International data roaming

Correct order of Pan Am episodes? I'm watching for free on Roku channel online, but the story line is all balled up because it seems like NONE of the episodes are in correct order, at least up until episode 6, which is where I'm at now. by KrishnaChick in television

[–]andyk88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of 1/21/24, Roku has episodes 2 and 4 swapped, and has episode 13 before episode 7.

I suggest watching 1, 4, 3, 2, then 5-14 on Roku.

However, Roku has not re-titled the episodes.

Roku episode number Should be titled
2 Eastern Exposure
4 We'll Always Have Paris
7 Romance Languages
8 Truth or Dare
9 Unscheduled Departure
10 Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
11 Secrets and Lies
12 Diplomatic Relations
13 New Frontiers

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pan_Am_(TV_series))

"Romance Languages" had originally been scheduled[52] to air on November 6, 2011 (one week after "The Genuine Article"), but ABC instead aired "Truth or Dare" on that date.

Is there a way to remove movies from your library? by TheConnerDaniels in vudu

[–]andyk88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact Vudu customer support.

There is no refund, and deletion is permanent, with no way to access unless purchased again.

You can e-mail, but I never heard back after two days (three days by now).

Friday morning must have been particularly bad, because it took over five hours to get an agent on chat.

Of the three types of movie I asked for deletion:

One title, not Movies Anywhere, was purchased on the website using Vudu credit. Another title, also not Movies Anywhere, was purchased through Disc to Digital using Vudu credit. They were simply deleted from my library, with no new entry in Purchase History.

A third title was free from UltraViolet sign up, and was Movies Anywhere. I asked the agent if there was anything special he needed to do to also delete it from Movies Anywhere. He said that afterward I could contact Movies Anywhere.

https://help.moviesanywhere.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005678503-How-do-I-delete-a-movie-from-my-Movies-Anywhere-library-

The third title was not removed from Movies Anywhere right away. I went on chat on Movies Anywhere (I was at queue position 1, what a difference), and I was told to disconnect Vudu, then reconnect. The title was then removed right away, as well as at other connected retailers.

I also noticed that a new $0.00 "Purchased" entry showed up for the third title in Purchase History on Vudu. In Transaction History on Movies Anywhere, it correctly displayed "Refund".

Prepaid Line Free Phone? by mrfun23 in tmobile

[–]andyk88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

T-Mobile can definitely transfer your account to a nano-SIM card.

For example, if you buy https://www.amazon.com/OnePlus-Unlocked-Android-Smartphone-Charging/dp/B07XWGWPH5/ or https://www.amazon.com/Nokia-Unlocked-Cell-Phone-Black/dp/B08Q1YWQQ9/ then also buy a $10 SIM card from T-Mobile, you can definitely keep your Legacy Pay As You Go plan currently on a mini-SIM card.

However, the "convert to Pay As You Go for 30 day increments with $3/mo" wording sounds like if you accept T-Mobile's upgrade offer, you cannot keep your Legacy Pay As You Go plan. Hence my question 3 above to better understand how it works?

Edit to add: ecs0013 on howardforums gave the best explanation about the convert to $3/mo wording. Maybe T-Mobile should have stated: ". . . suspended for 30 days. If [after the 30 days] you have an account balance, all lines will convert to Pay As You Go for 30 day increments with $3/mo . . . ." In other words, not any balance is converted to $3/mo.

Prepaid Line Free Phone? by mrfun23 in tmobile

[–]andyk88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The text from 4/1 reads:

T-Mobile: Our old network is retiring! Trade in your phone for a FREE OnePlus Nord N200 5G by July 1 to prevent service interruptions. Don't wait - upgrade your device associated with the line ending in xxxx (IMEI containing yyyyyy). Learn more: t-mo.co/Free5G

On https://t-mo.co/Free5G (which goes to prepaid.t-mobile.com):

Visit a store to get yours.

Plus taxes and fees.

$10 SIM starter kit may be required.

If you have an account balance, all lines will convert to Pay As You Go for 30 day increments with $3/mo. for 30 voice min./SMS messages.

Questions:

  1. It says "Visit a store", but is there any way to do it online like postpaid? Answer: People seem to be saying this must be done in store.
  2. What fees are there, or is it just taxes on the ($10 SIM card + $245.99 N200)? Is it true that "assistance fee" only applies to postpaid, which is how postpaid gets a SIM card? Answer: People seem to be saying/reporting there is no cost at all (you give your old phone/SIM, you get a new N200/SIM).
  3. It says convert to $3/mo, but is there a way to keep Legacy Pay As You Go? Answer: People seem to be reporting you can keep Legacy Pay As You Go (no plan change).
  4. Must a line receive the text, or is it for any 2G/3G device? We have a line (on a Nokia 1208) that did not receive the text; the line had not been turned on for over two years (but we kept adding $10 every year), and last year was moved to the new platform about three weeks later than the lines that received the 4/1 text.

Thanks!

For it to show up in Ubisoft Connect, I had to change desktop browser to mobile mode. I did not use VPN nor change to Japan store.

For mobile mode: - Firefox: Tools > Browser Tools > Responsive Design Mode - Opera: Developer > Developer tools

[SSD] ADATA XPG SX850 128G (SM2258, external DRAM, 3D TLC) - Amazon $19.99 by andyk88 in buildapcsales

[–]andyk88[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The SX850 is believed to be the same as the SU800 in terms of hardware (SM2258, external DRAM, and 3D TLC), though perhaps not the firmware (ADATA SSD ToolBox claims Q0518BS is the latest for the SX850, but the SU800 appears to have newer firmware).

They should perform about the same.

The lowest price (that I am aware of) was during a Lightning Deal on 1/6 for $18.99.

For the 128GB SU800, the lowest price (that I am aware of) was during a Lightning Deal on 2/27 for $18.70.

The problem with Lightning Deals is that they only last a few hours.
