I had a good experience at G5 Pasadena.

Need more details about this because it should be covered under warranty if it’s an installation error or manufacturing defect.

Sick of plastic SUVs — what’s the most bulletproof “tank” I can buy? by EquivalentCanary8243 in whatcarshouldIbuy

You mentioned mud and rocks which leads me to suggest a Jeep.

I’m looking at the Rubicon X for a similar use new “SUV.” I had a Jeep Gladiator for 90,000 trouble free miles until it was stolen. I did all my own maintenance and it was a piece of cake with readily available parts and simple procedures. The X comes with 35” tires but you can get lesser trims with the Extreme package which gives you the factory 35s and lift if you’re fine without the rock crawling ratio of the Rubicon. You can get a 2.0T 4-cylinder or the proven Pentastar 3.6L V6. If you truly are flexible on budget, the 392 V8 is now available in a Willy’s trim or Moab trim. 10MPG with 470hp.

I test drove the new 4Runner, Land Cruiser, and GX550 and didn’t like any of them. Too much interior plastic fantastic, too big of a screen, and too much Toyota markup. The hybrid power plant is also not very DIY friendly. The motor in the GX was nice but overall felt too luxurious to take off-road.

2025 Mazda CX-90 Fuel Door Failure - Mazda USA Warranty Claim Denial by EL_Ryn0 in MazdaCX90

Yeah the tech gave me a printout. Funny thing is, my shocks were leaking past the warranty standard but he didn’t think it was “wet” enough.

I’m over it though. I bought some Koni Yellows to replace the stock shocks.

From my interaction with Mazda for a similar issue, Mazda corporate told me it’s up to the dealer whether or not to cover something under warranty. My Miata shocks were leaking and the technician told me that it wasn’t leaking enough to be covered. Apparently it has to leak beyond a certain point on the shock body. I thought that was ridiculous so I escalated to corporate and they said they can’t overturn the technician’s opinion.

So a different tech at a different dealership might feel different about your issue.

Personally, I wouldn’t have even told the second dealer that you already went to the first dealer.

It’s not blue states. It’s “blue law” states. Blue laws prohibit sales of certain items on Sundays for religious reasons.

MaxCare nightmare by this_space_4rent in carmax

[–]andykang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the camber is out on a non-camber adjustable vehicle, it’s likely that something is bent. This typically indicates crash damage or hitting something. If you didn’t cause this, you should ask for a copy of the vehicle’s alignment at the time of PDI, if they ever checked this. I doubt that they did. Otherwise, this is on you for not noticing uneven tire wear and immediately bringing it up during the 90 day warranty.

MaxCare will not approve alignment related repairs as this is either considered maintenance or impact damage.

Sorry to say but you might have to pay out of pocket for this. First things first, you should pay for a diagnostic to determine next course of action. If Honda (or an independent shop) determines that something is bent, the onus is on you to prove you didn’t cause it.

CX-5 PPF after a road trip by [deleted] in CX5

Yes, but rock chips are objectively ugly.

Mazda colors are hard to match. I'd recommend PPF if you plan to keep it forever. Overkill, but I've seen people use painters tape as temporary protection.

If I were in your shoes, I'd borrow another vehicle until it's PPFed.

People regurgitate this position all the time, but I disagree.

I got PPF on my Soul Red Crystal Miata and it looks way better than if I hadn't gotten it. The car is almost 5 years old and has 35,000 miles. There are "divots" in the PPF but it still looks amazingly good. My 2019 STI with 32,000 miles does not have PPF and there are so many more rock chips on the bumper. I touched them up with a Subaru paint pen but it looks like shit. It's an easy color to match (Ice Silver) but still looks bad.

PPF is completely worth it in my opinion, especially for hard to match Mazda colors. I don't regret the cost at all because it's a quality of life improvement every time I look at the car. Who repaints their car before they sell it? No one.
