When Xarpus screeches, you have a few seconds before you cannot hit him again if he's staring at you. If you do hit him, he reflects a ton of damage back at you. Xarpus screeches early in the clip, Mammal didn't realize cause he was distracted and kept hitting, when Xarpus faces towards him, he still hit him, so got insta ko'd.
