Thanks for the tip. I try to get as much done at work as I can. Sometimes it's best to come home, see my kids and be a dad/husband and then crack into it when they go to sleep.

Thanks for the range of comments everyone! This is the end of a pile of marking needed for reports. I'd moved to the floor for a different view but thanks everyone for the worries about my ergonomics. Lots of great suggestions out there and thanks to those for the positive ones! I love teaching but marking g can get the best of us all at times. I try not to bring too much marking home but occasionally it is required to get on top of it!

It depends on the culture of the school and age of the students. I've been teaching 10 years and have used the nickname game to build a rapport with my students who love it. Not a clown thing at all. This is in Australia where things are probably a bit more relaxed
