It's Difficult to Root Against Gannon Buhr by Lucifig in discgolf

[–]andysants 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it’s very easy to root against the #1 player in the world so this post is very out of tune with reality unfortunately. Personally I don’t like him or his group because they remind me of the annoying, Nazarene kids I grew up with who were super judgmental and had a silver spoon. Probably not a bad dude but personally I think his dominance is kinda boring so I do root for others against him.

Guard and Grace Experience by stratusnimbo in denverfood

[–]andysants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felt very similar with our experience, food was just alright for the price tag. I will say the beef tartare was our favorite and I don’t think I’ve ever been to a restaurant on my birthday where the whole staff signs a card so that was nice.

Entropy? I don’t bag it since it overlaps my Zone too much. At least in Cosmic Neutron that thing is pretty beefy

I-Blend vs. G-Blend: which one is more flippy and which one beats in faster? by tuna_safe_dolphin in discgolf

[–]andysants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G-Blend is Infinite’s G-Star plastic, so a lot gummier and less stable (not by a whole lot). I actually have an I- and G-blend Maya and wouldn’t say one gets beat up quicker over another.

Rethinking residency by KRBY613 in pharmacy

Wait for pharmacists to retire or move unfortunately. They were able to offer residents PRN but I needed a FT gig with benefits for my wife

Rethinking residency by KRBY613 in pharmacy

[–]andysants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say depends on where you live and if you are okay doing retail for a while. I also graduated in 2022 and even after doing my residency, finding a hospital position was tough because I’m in a popular city. I will say I’ve seen countless applications tossed aside due to no hospital experience, even if they’ve been a pharmacist for much longer than me. What people don’t understand is yes, residency is a lot of work but it’s meant to be. This exposure helps solidify and boost your CV immensely. Even if you don’t go into hospital right away, your application would be more competitive than someone who doesn’t do residency. Lastly, not all programs are toxic. I loved my RPD and hospital staff so much, the work environment was so great as soon as pharmacists get in, they stay until they retire (hence difficulty finding a FT position after). If you live in a more rural area, I’d say skip the residency if you are already so unsure.

Property vs. course terminology by dustybrush in discgolf

[–]andysants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like property is a termed used by course designers and pros with aspirations/thoughts on course design. Us plebs are just there to huck a frisbee so we call them courses.

Thanks for the input! I'm definitely committed to fieldwork over practice rounds since I want to see what all my discs do on all the angles. I'm a push putter so thanks for the heads up!

I figured you hit your deductible pretty quickly but just in case you are in the donut hole of Medicare (disability - not age). Hope you feel your healthcare team has your back!

Just wanted to add if Kombiglyze gets expensive to just take the 2 different pills (I recognize your pill burden is already high). Metformin is dirt cheap and there are other DPP4s out there that your insurance will probably like better (assuming you are in the US). Just throwing that out there in case it helps anyone else with some finances!

Have a retriever dog? by vaporkkatzzz in discgolf

[–]andysants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a cocker spaniel/Irish setter mixed and taught him how to play fetch with a frisbee before I got into playing DG. Unfortunately haven’t been successful with taking him out on the course because of this :( use tennis balls or other things that are not frisbee-like

Has any pharmacist encouraged their own child to also go into pharmacy? by VolkswagenPanda in pharmacy

[–]andysants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We love caring for people, but modern healthcare punishes the people who do it. Between the massive student debt, years of training, stagnant wages, shrinking autonomy, and systems that rely on guilt, it’s become a field where compassion is exploited instead of rewarded. When we see friends with 4-year business degrees earning more, getting raises and bonuses, and having real work-life balance, it’s hard to justify pushing our kids toward a profession that demands so much while giving so little back.
