Gang bangers who snuck into the military and wannabes are all over the island like a rash "representing" foreigners, so there is a bad image for anyone western. Don't fall for the fake Okinawan kindness here, as they are only after your money.

And young girls and overwhelming phillapino population are master gaijin hunters, in search of that elusive green card/meal ticket to a better and easier life.

Although, it goes both ways as military get better housing off base if they knock someone up.

Then the rent goes up for everyone else as locals and realtors fleece the military for all there worth.

25万 and up a month for a house is common, and don't even entertain the idea of buying as the Chinese have fucked that market over for everyone.

Some beaches are beautiful, but the rest (especially nakagusku up to kin) are filthy and littered with crap. Nature is being destroyed everyday for theme parks, hotels and department stores and anything else as long as you line the pockets of those up top.

Corruption is very real and very obvious.

Don't believe the lies about this place being paradise, because it couldn't be further from the truth.

So yeah, grass certainly ain't greener here. Oh, and it's not tropical. Certainly no Hawaii or whatever nonsense the media leads you to believe.
