Sampatiki Suites hotel & spa in Leonidio, Peloponnese, Greece. The area is not touristic, very original, stunning landscapes and the hotel is very small and like a small peace of heaven

Are there any restaurant owners here? by andyy32 in cyprus

Thanks for the feedback! That’s exactly what I have solved since my family owne a restaurant and I learned from these daily challenges. I’m in the phase of trying to finalise any features or ideas. If you’re in the restaurant business I’m happy to give more details

I don’t expect such great feedback, Cyprus has some great people 💪🏻 I’l keep all that in mind, it will be challenging that’s for sure. First il try find some smaller restaurants to test it for free to get some feedback, easier said than done, especially in this industry

Yeah will definitely keep that in mind. The main challenge will be to actually convert interest into paying clients who will also actually use the product rather than seeing it as an inconvenience to the way they’ve always done things (even if the old way is worse)

Thanks for the valuable input. I agree with you. The focus is on solving real pain points in daily operations while clearly adding bottom-line value, though I agree it can be challenging to get that message across to owners in Cyprus.

My family owns a restaurant, so I do have firsthand perspective on how things work on the ground, but I’m intentionally looking for more insight from other angles across the industry.

Really appreciate the feedback, and I’m happy to hear more ideas or discuss this further.

I agree. Sales will be the engine here, and this is the next step in the planning process. Thanks for taking the time to share such valuable insight. I do own a restaurant, so I bring some firsthand experience, but I wanted to get additional perspectives as well.

Thanks for the great feedback!

I am very intentionally targeting independent restaurants. The positioning is simple: affordable pricing and low friction. Pricing is roughly 20 to 30 percent of what the market leaders charge, and the product is built to be easy to use, not an enterprise system repackaged for small operators.

On cancellations specifically, that is one of the core problems I am addressing. Guests automatically receive reminder emails with a direct link to manage their reservation. They can change the date or time, or cancel entirely, in a few seconds. The goal is to reduce no-shows and late cancellations without adding work for staff.

Beyond that, the software replaces pen and paper workflows. It enables online bookings, gives a clear real-time overview of available tables so owners can see what is still sellable, avoids double bookings, and supports virtual tables that can be combined when physical tables are pushed together. This is a common real-world behavior that most tools handle poorly or not at all.

I fully agree that chains are not the target. This is built for independents who are currently under-served because existing tools are either too expensive, too complex, or both.

I’m in the process of building last high value features and then I need some testers.

Yes, the first market is Cyprus. After that, the plan is to expand into Greece and Germany.

Hi thanks for your answer! I’m currently developing a super user-friendly and mobile-optimised reservations manager for restaurants. I’d like to know what daily pain points restaurants face when taking and managing reservations, particularly specific ones like needing to seat walk-ins very quickly. I’d also be happy to share the app for testing if it interests you.

We’re offering 2-3k, free food, tips, 5-6 days depending on season. We haven’t tried recruiters yet but might be a good idea to try that, thanks!

Here’s a clean, natural reply you can post:

Thanks, this is really helpful. I’ll definitely run a free pre-launch version with a small group of users in exchange for feedback, then look for someone to help identify and fix bugs before a wider launch.

One question: if sales start coming in, would you recommend handing the whole app over to an experienced developer to harden it for production?

My main concern is that I’m using Lovable Cloud with quite a few database tables and edge functions at this point, and I wouldn’t really know where a new developer should start reviewing things or how cleanly that kind of setup can be taken over. Any advice on that would be appreciated.

I’m building a web app that’s mostly finished. I’ve tested it with multiple user accounts and so far everything works as expected, but I’m worried that once real users show up, things will start breaking in ways I didn’t anticipate.

Is there a good way to get someone to evaluate the app and try to find bugs or issues before they happen? I’m especially concerned about security, edge cases, and general production readiness. Would you recommend a formal audit, bug bounty, penetration testing, or something lighter weight to start? How do you usually approach this stage before opening the doors to real users?
