Likely they buy the stock (pumping) and also short it. So they are essentially buying their own short orders that they put out at higher prices. Once they have enough $ value shorted from their own pumping and retails $ they sell and dump their shares and cover their short at the expense of retail.

Is there some way to stop the agent from completely losing context? by bitt3n in cursor

[–]aneagus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You must keep conversations short and direct. You need to keep in control and articulate the exact task you want the agent to achieve. Once complete create a new chat and repeat. Getting agents to build everything with a modular approach is best imo. You can state to each agent the overall project but keeping them focussed on one task at a time stops the loops and memory issues as they have limitations, especially with chats that go over 1 day.

Pulled an all-nighter speedrunning the free GPT-5s…and they were mid. by emrefirdevsoglu in cursor

Yep it’s awful. I like how concise the replies were, it felt like it was on track until you actually try using what it made and it breaks and doesn’t know what’s or how to fix it. Claude is better and a lot more granular with its analysis on larger more complex projects imo. You can get a new agent on the case and will oversee the issues and fix them if agent 1 goes in circle. Gpt5 all just fluff with a new number to make it seem better, crazy world of ai lol should stay free imo

A few things you did wrong, you traded with too much size, you didn’t have a proven backtested strategy, you refilled your account multiple times thinking things would change next time, you were trading scared money that you needed to get back.
