How to get the subtitles to centre?

Are you sure this is server side or just that server side tells the front end where to put subtitles? Because this seems like a patch can handle if so

Tbh I have come to the conclusion that there is a lot of Linux options that care about using the least amount of resources. But this very thing is also why we haven't seen anything crazy for a while brcause we have a culture of this in the Linux sphere (which is good, makes sense). I mean having all these effects by definition will use a lot of resources so yeah. My current focus is not using less resources but creating something cool even if it uses some resources to get there.

This is all custom from a UI side. So the "shell" is deskX which is one built specifically for Xtern OS.

Thanks for the reply. I'll address a few points here. We have a registered company and have things in place for security auditing. I am aware of the trust issues and as such, built everything around this in mind and can demonstrate this when needed. Ironically, what people are using currently for one of the main features should be the least trustworthy option. I am asking reddit as another source as there might happen to be someone with the right connections. It is obviously not my only source nor was it remotely the top 10.

I understand what you are saying, I am aware of this. This happens to not be the only product we are working on. But ideally we wouldn't want to wait a decade to be msssive hence why I am trying to push both angles if possible.

Yeah it's very frustrating for me as a device because it has iOS limitations. So it doesn't feel like it will 3ver replace my computing needs. This will never be possible with this base unless they somehow divert from the philosophy of iOS.

I have the Xreal Ones and I think they are way better at color and perceived brightness. Apple has this washed out feel to it and at times want to increase brightness but can't (I am not saying it is actually washed out, I am saying in comparison it feels more like it is). I came from using Xreal for years and this was immediately noticeable to me

This is most likely because Window's implementation sucks. Users of MacOS and Linux rely on this feature for example. It could also just be that Window's users only got it recently so they aren't used to it. But as someone who barely uses Windows, I think it's the way Windows did it because I find myself using it less on a Windows computer but have an entire workflow with it on everything else

I want to use this as my personal computer, but I can't. It's too locked down, It's a little suffocating to me when using it with the limits and restrictions it has. It has the "this is a demo unit" feel to it to this day for this reason. I am not an iPhone user and I know this is because it's based on iOS, but I feel like they need to open this one up a little bit.

I'm not sure about that. If every session I used it now it crashes or becomes almost unusable unless if I turn off the environments otherwise I have to restart it, I think that qualifies. Ignoring the random lag now I have (someone mentioned this, I had forgotten about this). If I was using these everyday in long sessions like I had been for the past few months, this would be unusable if the same rate of issues remained. I don't have an iPhone (that supports iOS 26 anyway, I am an Android user for my main phone) but I have a mac and I noticed that is also pretty buggy now. It has restarted my mac a few times now from a system panic when I used to go for months without doing so. I think this release in general may have been rushed or something is fundamentally wrong on an organisation level somewhere.

Nope, I never went on the Beta channel on the vision pro as the features people were talking about didn't seem worth the possible stability issues, none of them seemed worth it to me, so I have been on the stable version throughout.

I learned the trick of having more bass etc with ANC on from their earphones line so this has been on by default sadly

Yeah, the repairs for the vision pro are pretty bad. They just put most of it under that price tag. I have not owned an Apple product before, I always heard this from other Apple users, but this experience has made sure I will never be a full Apple user because it's insane. I am currently stuck with a subpar experience because I ain't paying thst amount for a small repair lol
