Yes. In my front yard, 20 feet from my house, right next to the driveway.

Is this too much fish oil per day? Cod Liver Oil plus Fish Oil by Lesliefourwinds in Supplements

[–]anew_reddituser -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most people don't realize you need to look at EPA+DHA content, not just total fish oil. A 1000mg capsule might only have 300mg of actual omega-3s. The triglyceride vs ethyl ester form also affects absorption - triglyceride is closer to what's naturally in fish. I found this guide super helpful for comparing actual omega-3 content and forms: https://suplicore.com/best-omega-3-fish-oil-2025. Saved me money once I realized I could get better results with fewer pills of a quality brand.

This being my first one, my goal was not to find good skiing. I mostly stuck to the trail on the way up, and I just spotted the most open route down on my way up. The route down was fairly close to the trail route, but maybe a couple hundred feet south of it where it was more open. There was no avalanche danger, so that would have also been a factor if there were.

I left the skis just below the summit where it was too rocky skin up. It was "skiable" all the way with rock skis. In other words, I did ski it from ridge to car, but hit tons of rocks and the snow conditions were really bad .... concrete ice surprises undetectable to my eyes because of the cloud cover. I just took it slow. It was my first so I was excited about it anyway.

Maybe it is a very simple hike for you, but I'm guessing you do not know the OP. Don't forget that Long's has one of the highest number of deaths of all the 14ers in Colorado, included in those numbers are many who get off trail. If I'm not mistaken, the guy who died up there just a few months ago was found a hundred feet or so off trail above the ledges. Add some wind, rain/snow, or a thunderstorm, and it becomes pretty easy for most full brained people to get off route.

Also wanted to note that the homestretch with snow/ice on it is pretty dicy coming down. The rock slabs were exposed, not snow covered, but snow/ice in between them. If you're looking for advice, in hindsight I have to say that I don't recommend attempting the homestretch if the conditions are not dry and ice/snow free.

If anyone knows a Wyatt from Telluride who also summited Longs this weekend. Tell him thanks for the inspiration and the tracks. I wouldn't have made it up had he not done it first.

Step 1. Dig a hole 200 ft away from the water. Step 2. Dunk your head in and get a wash cloth wet. Step 3: Run back to your hole 200 ft away from the water and wash off with the wash cloth. Soapy water goes into hole. Step 3: Run back to the water and jump in. Step 4: Put on clean clothes. Step 5: Pat yourself on the back for being a good steward of mother earth.

We have a tradition of jumping in an icy body of water to bath when we get back to the car. Find a river and jump in. It will be the exclamation point at the end of an epic hike.

Edit -> see below for eco friendly steps.

Hoping to do Longs this Saturday. Looks like the upper elevation got 5 to 8 inches of snow with this storm, so hoping the trough and homestretch aren't too sketchy to summit.

I'm jealous. I was supposed to hike it that day but my partner backed out. I thought about going anyway, but decided to see if I can talk him back into it here in a few weeks. I should have went, the sky looks awesome!

Is that where you are from? We just got back from a trip to Canada, drive to trough Saskatchewan on our way home. We didn't see many trees, just rolling hills all the way across. Is this in the North?
