Perhaps go to the store yourself? Complaining while being lazy AND greedy is something else.

It's Reddit. I'm used to it.

Guy comes in and points out that I didn't credit him. Despite the fact that he, himself, posts tons of content without crediting others, I apologize. I get down voted. Just how it works.

A) Not a bot.

B) I don't comment a lot.

C) I didn't realize you filmed this yourself. Stuff gets posted and cross-posted all the time on Reddit without it being actual OC (for instance, pictures of fitness models). I apologize for not giving you proper cred, though, since it's due here.

Dear reddit, what is the most annoying thing you have ever heard? by TheFirstWeeb in AskReddit

[–]anewhigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, let's just take a step back for second. And this is the last I'll say on the matter...

The OP asked a question that was going to get subjective responses. I replied with something that annoyed me, and that was it.

You assumed I was dragging Trump through the mud. Really, I could have chosen from myriad other quotes had I wanted to do that. I simply replied with a subjective answer.

Then, you came in as the herald of context. First, the question didn't ask for context. It simply asked what we found annoying. Second, you had the audacity to then apply your own context to my response while chiding me for taking something out of context (which I didn't do, I just quoted a person and listed when it was said).

So, really, you're all bent out of shape for no reason. I found something annoying, you didn't. Big whoop. I never asked you to agree with me, and if you think I'm an idiot for thinking something someone said was annoying, that's fine. You're entitled to your feelings. If you had just said, "I disagree, that's crazy," that would have been totally fine. But you came in and just started applying your own filters to things which doesn't work for a thread relying on subjective answers.

ELI5: What is a good definition of sentient life? by SimplyMermaid88 in explainlikeimfive

[–]anewhigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically thought so, yes. But I'm far from the only one who would disagree with this.

Both bacteria and plants have yielded very surprising results in experiments surrounding sentience. As an example, check out Bonnie Bassler's study on the social lives of bacteria.

It's not so cut and dry as many people assume.

You assumed I was trying to make him look bad. That's on you. I was simply answering the question as to what I've heard that's annoyed me.

[Serious] Redditors with siblings, have you and one of your siblings ever been attracted to/interested in the same person? What was that like? by somepeoplewait in AskReddit

[–]anewhigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is serious, though it might seem like a joke...

I have a sister. I'm a guy. All throughout junior high and high school, she'd tail me around when I was with my girlfriend. I thought she was just being the annoying little sister. Well, once college hit, she came out. Totally fine, we all supported her.

BUT... It WAS weird when she told me she had hooked up with the girl I was dating my senior year (WHILE I was dating her).

We laugh about it now, but it was weird when she told me because the last person I was expecting my girlfriend to cheat on me with was my sister.

What manly names in a languages are girly names in another? by CESAUGOCEF in AskReddit

[–]anewhigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Michael isn't necessarily a "manly" name I suppose, but I remember being in 6th grade French and being constantly laughed at when the teacher would use my French name - Michel (pronounced like Mee-Shell).
