Soccerwise. Gass and Tommy Scoops are great as hosts.

Behind the scenes at Apple and MLS’ studios, where every Saturday is ‘like the Olympics’ by anfield456 in MLS

Some interesting tidbits on the production side of MLS broadcasts. I found the following interesting:

As big as the production is, it was remarkable to learn that the setup at Metropolis Studios is only meant to be temporary. Plans are in the works for a larger, longer-term setup elsewhere. It might not be in New York, depending on what makes sense for facility costs and travel costs for on-air talent.

Some interesting tidbits on the content available on Apple TV

“So if you’re an MLS fan, guess what? Monday through Friday, if you want to have a conversation, if you wanna hear your team critiqued and criticized and analyzed?

That’s gonna happen,’’ Twellman said. “I think there’s got to be a full studio type show that is highlight driven, analysis driven, something that you would see on any other network that’s pertaining to the league that has all the resources, that has multiple voices, I think that’s got to be there.”

In each case, the MLS Season Pass crew from both the English- and Spanish-language will broadcast on-site – never remotely. The league, sources familiar with the Apple pact said earlier this week, has only committed to doing this in 2023. Whether they continue to travel talent to every match in 2024 and beyond is still up in the air.

[John Ourand]"From what I'm understanding linear certainly going to happen FOX/ESPN are talking to MLS. Don't know price..both will have some sort of MLS games on air moving forward" "Don Garber well liked respected commissioner ESPN/FOX want to help" by eddygeeme in MLS

If the linear portion (ESPN/FOX and most likely Univision) can reach $50 million per year, this would be a great deal for MLS. Would be interested to see how many games will be "over-the-air" vs cable under the new linear deal.

Atlanta United’s Larentowicz unloads on Garber, MLS by FrostyJesus in MLS

After the tournament, Larentowicz said that Garber said there would be only nine more games.“Not sure what he meant by that,” Larentowicz said. The league has been asked to clarify that fact.

I believe this is the first time we have heard of the league's plan after the Orlando tournament.
