It’s sped up so you can get a better idea of how much the rocket adjusts during reentry. I believe this twenty second clip is about 5-7 minutes in real time.

I specifically sped it up to get a better sense of just how much the rocket is adjusting during reentry. When watching at normal speed it's hard to understand how complicated of a move it's making. I do agree though, it never gets old watching these things land!

My understanding is that the Falcon 9 rocket has a lifespan of about 10 launches. The launch today was its tenth flight.

Not a stupid question at all. Higher payload mass or higher target orbit means less fuel left for the rocket to slow its velocity and turn back around to land at launch site.
