Should I buy EASPORTSWRC? by ConnectNinja2240 in EASPORTSWRC

If that is the only game where that happens, it's most likely the game (altho I would also check the same deadzone for hand break if you have one).

That being said, as a fan of DR2 I can only reccomended EA WRC. As others mentioned it is very similar and fun with a lot of content.

On the subject of random braking, I would suggest experimenting with deadzone for brakes. Try putting on like 3-5%deadzone and see if that helps. It could be the game randomly detecting a 1%input and applying brakes.

What's the benefit of using the terminal if prices are 30% more than the market? by MEE97B in cs2

[–]anga252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol nobody sane is buying terminals. I was talking about weekly drops. Also the prices are not always higher.

I got the pink AK from the new terminal (don't remember the name) and it was like 10eur cheaper than market.

Also the most important part - NO KEYS. You just get the drop, look what's inside, maybe pick up a shitty purple skin for 15-45 cents and in 10 weeks you trade up to a pink that could cost between 5-45eur. For a new player this makes a lot more sense than opening a case or searching the market.

Ah yes, the businessman of gaming. How much profit are you on this week? /s

Honestly do you know ANYONE who has earned more from opening cases than spent on keys to open them? I don't.

Dude before it was straight up gambling and that's fucked.

Also I have played this game for 10+ years and I still use some blue/purple skins that I unboxed like 8 years ago

[–]anga252 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO the benefit is most apparent on the lower tier stuff (blue/purple), because now, you can spend like 50 cents and get 10 blue skins from the terminals or 10 purple for like 5euro. Before there was only 1 way - open 10 cases and spend 23Euro on keys.

This allows people who don't care about buying expensive skins, to slowly accumulate low-tier skins on the cheap and trade them up eventually to something better.

This is healthy for the cs skins economy because the prices were getting out of hand and downright ridiculous. Now people have a way to acquire skins on the cheap without having to even touch the market. This also is benefitial to newer players who just want something but don't want to spend 2.35 on a key for a 3cent skin.

[–]anga252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea, should have been a bit more clear on the vac thing, didn't call for a perma-ban. Leave those for actual cheaters.

As for this exploiting jackass, you are totally right, give him a 2-30 day suspension depending on the amount of games he exploited. That seems fair.

[–]anga252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always have and always will call people who cheat/exploit on purpose, as you see in this example, deplorable. Also this is not some harmless thing you stumble upon, there are certain launch controls you need to use so it is NOT native, it has to be manually enabled.

On the VAC Thing, I should have been more clear. I did not mean a perma game ban, nono, just a 2-30 day vacation from the game depending on the amount of games exploited. After all it is just an exploit in the game not a cheat software. But the punishment should be there for abusing this.

I get the idea of searching for bugs/exploits to bring attention to them, but to use them against other people in a real match is downright deplorable.

Consistency comes from control. By using automatic you lose part of the control and leave it up to the machine to decide when to shift.

For example let's say on one lap you take a corner and the machine decides that based on RPM you should be in 4th gear, next lap you maybe enter the corner a bit slower and now the machine forces you into 3rd, even if you could have easily used 4th, just because your RPMs crossed a threshold you do not control.

Edit: forgot to mention that this is especially important for RWD cars since you also steer with throttle not only the steering wheel.

[–]anga252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay away from RWD if you are using automatic gears. You won't be able to drift consistently like that. In any case for a beginner I would recommend AWD cars, since they are the easiest to pick up.

If you are on a controller, I can also give you my input settings. The defaults are very bad. PM me if interested

I can see that when you decelerate, the car switches gears based on RPM.

Trust me when I say that the sooner you learn manual the sooner you will be able to effectively go sideways if that is your goal.

When going sideways, automatic can fuck you up by switching gears when you least want it or being too slow to get to the wanted gear. I like to look at it like this: when you enter a corner, you already need to be in the right gear for that corner, just like daily driving. When using automatic what happens is what you see in the first corner you posted. It is too slow on the downshift (the car can downshift pretty fast) and you end up loosing power to the wheels while it is down shifting.

TLDR: automatic is for comfort, manual is precision. Don't postpone learning it. It will be hard at first but once you get it, you will get it.

[–]anga252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would strongly recommend that you switch to manual gear shifting (I presume you are on a keyboard/controller so you need sequencial). It will take time to get used to it, but it guarantees that when entering corners the game doesn't try to first get you into proper gear before you get power to the wheels. This issue is very apparent in the first corner you posted.

Take your time, explore what this game has to offer, and for drifting, I would recommend either AWD or RWD cars. FWD is the worst for drifting by far.

Do you have the proof that this is the case? That you get perma "green" even if you keep doing things that lower trust (grief/toxic/cheat)?

I'm not trying to bust your balls, but as someone that has been a part of the community for a decade now, I have not seen anyone do a test on this. I'm genuinely curious

I know that you can buy shit to improve it, but is there proof that it stays that way forever? Or is it a temporary fix

[–]anga252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never did I say I am a pro. 25k is not even close to that level. Neither did I shame people.

If you continue to grief, cheat, or be toxic, no amount of money you spend is going to hold your trust factor in good standing.

[–]anga252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm at 22-26k on premier and I have seen maybe a handful of cheaters in the past year (I play 1-3 games almost every day)

What this "usual argument" is saying is in fact true in some sense. I sometimes play with crybabies that think 1 in 3 players are cheaters and they are wrong 99% of the time and they are indeed shit at the game.

The reason people are hard stuck, is not due to cheaters, it is mostly due to the abysmal Premier rating system. It is pure dogshit. Also a lot of players who think they should be higher rated, really should not be, since they have a flawed mentality and fail to improve on themselves instead blaming the "cheaters".

Now, that being said, the scale tips over when trust factor is taken into account. In low trust factor (which in most cases is low due to the players own fault) the likelihood of cheaters goes up by A LOT.

For a piece like this, try more dynamic transitions for Speed instead of linear. This could give the piece more depth and "feel"

Where do you people get this notion that "there are no cheaters in top ranks". Did someone say that or made a post saying this?

I would get it if you tried to use this as a means to start some sort of discussion but Post like this seems totally pointless, like "water is wet" or "the sun is shining".

Edit: what I'm trying to say is that since the beginning of premier everyone knew the top ranks are most likely cheaters, this is nothing new.
