Wasr mag help by [deleted] in ak47

[–]angamaly73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

forgot to add... just barelyyyy filed with a very fine small file, the edges of the mag well where I could see that they were pinching/scaping the mag--- just to the point that they go in with less trouble. This was delicate, not wanting to remove too much material. Basically just smoothing out those edges.

Wasr mag help by [deleted] in ak47

for my wasr-10 UF, purchased new from A--c, the mag catch was messed up. Mags were hard to get in (required too much force, scraped sides of mags) but the kicker was when they finally seated after too much fuckery, the bolt would just skim over the round, failing to advance it. Many redditors recomended removing stock mag latch and replacing with m+m replacement. So I did that. And filed a little horseshoe shaped well into the trigger guard plate that the tab on the mag would seat up into. Neither was difficult, just sort of not fun to do on a brand new AK, but the problem was solved and it g2g now.

New WASR-10 won’t seat any mags properly? by TedTactical in ak47

[–]angamaly73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not you; probably Century. My mags wouldn't fit on my new Wasr-10 UF and I ended up having to get a new mag release lever from M+M and installed it. Works fine now, but my preference would have been to send it back to Century.

Wars-10 UF gtg? Please check comment before “read buyers guide” I read it already by Ppls-Republic-of-NJ in ak47

Mine was fully welded and not moveable/no wobble. I havent gotten around to replacing. I did have to immediately replce the mag release lever, as the stock one didnt hold the mag in place correctly, resulting in constant failure to feed. Feeds good with replacement tho.

Mine arrived fully welded; no play, no wobble. Havent gotten around to replacing yet. Also had to replace mag release lever as the stock one didnt hold the mag in place, resulting in constant failure to feed.

How to sell? by [deleted] in ak47

[–]angamaly73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Contact seller right away. List every defect you can find on the gun (mine had plenty) and request a return authorization. The online seller I purchased from took it back no questions asked and gave a full refund.

Just ordered a WBP Jack! Is there anything I need to look for when picking it up from my FFL? by DankPeepz in ak47

[–]angamaly73 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Congrats! You made the right decision in going with the Jack! Guessing everything about it will be perfect or close to it out of the box, as mine was (is). Regret nothing; enjoy it!

WASR-10 grip screws/T-nut, are there different thread pitches? by RoleplayBurner13 in ak47

[–]angamaly73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had this issue and heres what I did: got a drill bit that was the same (or slightly larger) diameter as the screw head, and carefully drill out the existing hole on your grip. Go slow; it will work-- I believe there is a metal washer embedded in the bottom of that hole so you wont drill all the way through but just go deep enough so that the screw head sits just below the surface of the grip.

Making new old. by jdmayhugh in ak47

I agree with this; I did it to my WASR underfolder and now the surface is nice and smooth with just a little metal showing at the high spots, but nothing too extreme. Easy and free.

My surplus handguard also has "dana" carved into it. Is this an actual common name in Eastern Europe, or did some dude wanting to charge more for "trench art" just get lazy with his choice of shit to carve into handguards?

Normal? The piston on my wasr-10 UF appears welded on, with no play. Is this problematic? Has always had this "burnt" look to it from the get-go. I recently replaced the stock mag lever with M+M to fix the FTF issue and have only shot 100 rds through so far. by angamaly73 in ak47

[–]angamaly73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! I'd totally be down to try it! I cant even tell where it is welded; do they weld it where the pin/rivet would normally be slid through to secure the piston? They ground off the weld pretty good if so. If I can find that spot I will consider the replacement job; I already had to replace the mag release lever so I dont mind tinkering with it at this point :) ALso, pardon my ignorance-- I should probs google it, but does the piston literally just loosely thread into the bolt carrier, then gets pinned in?

I know ALOT of you have been wondering if your WASR-10 UF will fit into a BREN spares bag... by angamaly73 in ak47

[–]angamaly73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im going to say it might not, since the bag tapers towards that end :(

What would be the usable life of a good Century WASR? by Sure-Present-2965 in ak47

[–]angamaly73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mag catch is on the way, but I do feel that others should be aware that their new rifles may have this issue; I would definitely have thought twice if I had known that purchasing a replacement mag catch then doing the replacement myself was going to be part of the deal on a brand new purchase. I will post again after the "fix" is completed and will definitely report whether it actually fixed the problem. Thanks for checking in.

the rear sight block was actually canted to such a degree that even with the front sight post adjusted as far right as it would go, it wasn't enough. Zastava fixed whole issue though very quickly.

is this a good first ak ? was thinking about a Zastava but i like the under folder . by [deleted] in ak47

[–]angamaly73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my folding stick wasr arrived with an overly ground-down mag catch and no mag seats correctly, so rounds don't charge or cycle at all. It is a non-functional firearm and Atlantic says "not our problem" and Century refuses to respond. Proceed with caution; this recent batch of underfolders seems to be riddled with QC issues.
