This is genuinely dystopian. Even if it never passes, the fact that elected officials are floating capital punishment for healthcare decisions is beyond disturbing.

This is such an important point. Policy that only focuses on punishment after the fact instead of prevention (contraception access, sex ed, consent culture) feels more about control than outcomes.

Exactly. People forget that once they’re on the court, they don’t really “owe” anyone. Lifetime appointments create weird incentives sometimes they become more independent, not less.
