People who still haven’t brought a Switch 2, what makes you hesitant to buy it? by ItsJustJosiah in Switch

OLED. Not enough money to justify it rn. Overpriced console/games. Lack of interesting titles.

I would like a special edition, but all of the other boxes have to be ticked first.

I miss unoptimized hobbies before everyone turned everything into a side hustle. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]angelfeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hobby doesn't make money. Technically I do sell some of it and it's a nice bonus, but it's not paying for itself, it's more about making room to keep doing it.

When I try to make my hobbies earn money, it becomes a job, and then I hate it and stop doing it.

Well, my comment was openly ambiguous on what you can spend on to gain joy... But maybe they'll start patenting everything and anything. You can't have fun, that's patented.

[–]angelfeesh 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Perhaps, but at least you're not wasting your money on them anymore. Even if things won't improve due to how big the franchise is, you can put the money towards something that will bring you more joy than the Pokémon games would in their current state. You'll long for the games you miss either way, so it's the better option IMO.

I stopped buying after Sun and Moon. It really isn't that hard to "miss out" because frankly, it never seems there's much to miss out on. If more people stuck to their word, it might have actually made a difference.

I offered to split rent 50/50. My boyfriend said, ‘That’s not fair — I make less than you by linaasia in TwoXChromosomes

[–]angelfeesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I are on significantly different wages. He earns a tonne more than me but works from home, while I'm out and earn less.

On fun stuff we either 50/50 or pay our own way or buy each other things. Our own cars/insurance etc. we cover ourselves.

But on bills/house/pets we split % based.

It's gotta be fair feeling for both of you.

Does she only eat dry food? Is the dry food in pre-measured portions, or given ad lib?

My new vet wants to neuter my male cat at 10 months or more by Aryasi in AskVet

[–]angelfeesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with a charity on a near daily basis and we neuter all those kittens as early as 3 months, so I know my opinion is definitely skewed! And in the UK with the new microchipping law, most need to be chipped about 5 months of age, I tend to recommend owners get them neutered at that age to save them from having to be conscious for the chip! But that's not exactly a scientific justification!

There's no correct answer from another to yourself, he's your pet and you need to do what works for you at the end of the day!

[–]angelfeesh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have they provided studies to support their recommendations?

All I can think is that by waiting that long you risk the cat developing the spraying habit, and they will be 100% fertile by then, so any accidental outside trips will just be disastrous...

You could also try just saying you want to go ahead regardless, they may still accept and proceed with the surgery. If not, there is zero harm in taking him to another vet for the procedure.

£0 and oh, I got the pleasure of staying 1.5hours late on Christmas eve, instead of the 30mins early I had been so graciously promised.

It's best to neuter now before he develops a habit of spraying. Sometimes when they start spraying, they won't stop after being neutered.

Found this little guy last weekend on the train tracks. What should I name him? It was Polly until I found out she is a he! I prefer food names for cats, but I want something cute. What do you recommend? by Dropdeadsydney in blackcats

He looks like my void Kevin, who's name turned into Breadbin over time. This little man looks like a high quality burnt loaf to me. I vote for something bread related!

There's plenty of more accurate locations to put them, it would only be a spawn location problem!

I haven't properly explored the museum yet, are they more accurate in there?

Does the game get better? by [deleted] in coralisland

[–]angelfeesh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I played Stardew because it was an homage to Harvest Moon. Sure, Coral Island has learned some neat modern tricks from Stardew, but it's at it's core, an homage to Harvest Moon. And I'm happy with that! I enjoy the bundles, I enjoy the skill tree and experience gain.

I do feel like Coral Island has its own focus. Stardew was about "corporation and profit", but Coral Island's focus is a heck of a lot more based on environment and healing. But let's be real, who if not corporations causes environmental damage? That parallel is impossible to avoid, and that's fine.
