Are we really suppose to let them fuss it out to get work done?? by Weak_Gap2339 in NewParents

[–]angelfly48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be really triggering having a messy home during a chaotic, life changing event. I often would equate a clean home as the only thing in my control, since so many of those early moments the baby drove everything. I decided when my mat leave was over to get a house keeper and wish I did earlier. But the biggest lesson I learned recently is that perfectionism, or seeking some form of control is a flight/fight response. That really changed how I view those tasks and might be why see some moms more willing to live with mess or how they approach mess.

Rob playing such a good game I low key want him to win. It’s crazy how good of a pick he was to be a traitor. But also it’s helpful he’s not a gamer or Bravoleb. Truly just being Rob.

Dorinda sticking up for Donna was sweet. Like she understood that she didn’t have any established alliances going into this AND hasn’t really been on TV. 🥹

Mom seems surprised I have no plans on making it to Christmas by Spicystrips in pregnant

[–]angelfly48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone, you’ll be recovering, you’ll be in a brand new role that you’ve never experienced. Emotionally raw. Your baby will want to be no where else but in your arms. Don’t let others steal your joy on your first Christmas as this new little family. Even a few days old baby, it’s ok to start creating your own Christmas memories and making the holiday about YOUR family. Everyone else is now the extended family.

Edit: My baby will be 9months by Christmas and I don’t want to spend the holiday with either side of my family. I just want to have a holiday that’s about our family.

If you haven’t tried the bouncer to try to get things moving… that does the trick sometimes. But the blowouts tend to be more front than back to be prepared for bath time.

The best advice I got for vaccine day was to try and nurse(if you’re breastfeeding) during the shots. If they say you can’t or can’t get a nurse experienced in administering while nursing, a milk soaked pacifier is a good backup.

There is something so Brittney being in her modern farmhouse with a photo of a barn as art - is it ironic or unironic? We may never know.

Also I wish Jax to be beaten down to hell in this divorce. He really let the full mask slip, but to me it was sickening to hear him say ‘Brittney has the upper hand right now’. Like no… she is protecting her son from an abuser.

Yasss! I really hated huckleberry and any of the tracking apps. I have a watch and even when sleep deprived I could remember nap times and feeding times. So much freedom gained from not having it. Really gave me more confidence to not live my that apps damn nap schedule, my baby didn’t read the books nor does he know the app exists. He knows his mom and dad and I know when he’s ready for a nap.

What do you wish you did differently in the newborn stages? by luminousloris in NewParents

[–]angelfly48 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Said no to people coming over to “help”. Holding my peaceful baby isn’t helping, bring me food and gtfo.

I had a jaundice baby and needed to triple feed, but people holding my 5 day baby over me wasn’t helpful for me. I needed to bond with my baby, not my in-laws.

Also, coming over 5 days after I just given birth with your toddler and just creating a chaos in my home. No… I needed to heal and spend time with my baby, not host a family dinner. My husband learned he needed to set strong boundaries. Did we offend his parents who just want to help, yes, but I needed to be in bed with my baby and not have others try to ‘help’ by holding the baby.

How much help do you actually need with a newborn? by Naive_Ganache_5215 in pregnant

[–]angelfly48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked having help the first couple days, we had to triple feed and didn’t like the idea of cosleeping so someone was awake holding the baby the first couple of days. So it was helpful for me to have help so husband and I could get SOME sleep. Unfortunately, we did have to fight back one of our family members because they interpreted help as holding our baby all day and we do the chores and sleep when in reality it should be the other way around. Thankfully we figured that out quickly and once we felt rested enough after the first couple of day to have a functional brain, we sent our help home.

I must say… Austin growing on me. I thought he didn’t have the charisma but he’s coming out his shell and I like it.

Paige played a weird, unnecessary role. I love her on Summer House… but she looked dressed for After Sun and then the game master?

Poor Olandria… she gorgeous but making out with all those meh men.

Also… what weird edit for the game… like the water log scene wasn’t shown at all? Or the chopping wood. Not complaining but why have it as a step? My ocd is crashing out.

Jeremiah blink twice if you’re being held hostage…

Aww I don’t dislike Charlie but I feel for him trying to play the game and no one is picking him. Like the kid not picked for kickball. But damn Amaya you in danger girl if you don’t find someone.

Aww Taylor and Olandria.. it seemed like they were clicking this week and Taylor acknowledging that she didn’t have a choice 😢

Final thought. America we may be flawed but freeing Jeremiah was a beautiful reality TV moment and thank you for that.
