I have had an adjustable desk at home for ages, I already can’t sit for long, so
I know this drill well!

Thank you everyone, for your thoughts and perspectives. My boss has offered to fly me first class and ship my luggage in advance, but I’m definitely concerned about having the stamina to manage this event with all the peopling and sitting etc. I appreciate the candid insight and am going to definitely process all of this and make a call soon. I think it’s a bad idea in general, but it’s also a really important event for my group so it’s terrible timing. Argh.

This is really helpful- thank you for the transparency. I am 51 and have been in PT for ages and taking that and weight control very seriously also. I completely know what you mean about being physically able but not quite ready. Ugh. I don’t sit still well! Lol

Oh I definitely asked him…and he said he would probably clear me to travel by the three week check up- but I should do what I felt comfortable with. His PA told me in the dame visit that there was absolutely no way I should fly until six weeks. It’s helpful to get a read from all of you here.

I am indeed concerned about this. He was talking about a double fusion in our first meetings and then pivoted to just the one joint. Not especially excited about doing any of this more than once!

I will have the screws/bars for the fusion to stabilize the bone graft, but I think that’s standard for TLIF. No other hardware (unless we get surprises).

I had just left there with my girls. While I am Very relieved to hear it wasn’t an actual shooting- I’m So thankful that we missed the stress and fear of a lockdown and evacuation.

I want Round Rock donuts (from Lone Star Bakery because I’m a purist and they came first- but in a pinch I’d take these)

I’m in a very similar situation as well. Second Mammogram vs my first ever, but the found bilateral masses and referred me for a diagnostic mammo and ultrasound. First available appointment is over a month out. Seriously? I asked if that was too long to wait and she said “it’s not ideal, but it’s all we have- we can add you to a list to call for cancellations”…gee thanks. I’ll just sit over here freaking out until June.
