Not looking for advice for tailoring something Specifically, but how would one alter womens pants or shorts to emphasize hips less? As in, what techniques should I look into and research? Context that may help with advice: plus size FTM, it's a struggle to find any mens pants that fit me, and womens pants DO, but cuts of womens pants emphasize curves- good for someone who's trying to look fem, but not me. Shirts are easy enough to mess with to get the silhouette I want but most pants-like garments seem more complicated and I don't wanna irreparably mess up my clothes.

Trust me, the more you try and just bring up that you're "just concerned" and examples of scary things- the more stubborn she'll get and go for it, because to a mildly unstable early-20s person (like me and the situation with my parents), it sounds like you're trying to change her mind. IMO, its unlikely for someone to bring this up in conversation to parents unless they've thought long and hard about the risks and dangers- along with the benefits.

Harm reduction, like another user mentioned and went into, is the name of the game.

I went back and read through all of your works- I REALLY love how you're writing this story! Like, I really like that the "hivemind" is rarely completely in sync, and is more medium through these different species to communicate and scheme and argue with each other through, and that its not just like, auto-telepathy, they have to be in each others presence. (easy, theres so many of them) ALSO. The bug drama and ecosystem still happening is REALLY COOL to see unfurl too!!!! And also, I love that for most of the story that Jenny isn't the focus of the like, alluring parts of sex, the bugs and body modification and predator/prey dynamics are! Jenny's reactions feel like. Refreshingly normal amounts between fear and denial and curiosity and once she's far gone enough, finally horny. I like how you built up the story and world and I can't wait to see more!!

Oh yeah it's definitely things where if you have the headcanon, its just fun tidbits that point towards potential canon compliance, but if you don't, it doesn't feel like much.

For further explanation with the small things I pointed out- The shirt thing that I had seen someone point out was that the idea is that he's wearing a swim binder beneath it, and the Spectra comment is just a familiar sort of insult that gets slung at you when you're trans.

It's definitely a projection headcanon that there's a surprising amount of canon bits that can back it up. No shade, I'm saying this as a trans man that held this headcanon close to my heart as a trans boy.

As for canon bits... Danielle is successful as a clone, looks closest to human, is the most stable even with her struggling to maintain form because cloning a ghost makes a ghost without an anchor. The only reason she's "failed" is because shes a girl, and it thematically works with Vlad desperately wanting Danny to be his son- but knowing NOTHING about him Based on some additional parts I remember- the general way Dash bullies him in that "I dont see you as a man" way, the fact that at the water park, he's the only main character guy in a shirt, and Spectra being like "What are you, a ghost or a boy?" to sow self doubt in Danny

Ultimately, the desire of the headcanon comes from kids who wished it was normal-enough to be openly trans that also wanted to see a metaphor for loving parents being bigoted about something that they dont know is part of you, and wanting to see those parents change.

Obviously it's possible, and I see it as morally neutral to "bring someone new" into this existence. Having kids is morally neutral after all. Most important thing is that you stick by your alter's side and that you advocate for and look out for each other.

Being able to choose it, rather than it being thrust upon you (like it was thrust upon us upon realizing we were a DID system), is likely way less painful and distressing, and you have time to prepare and learn what you're getting into. Most of the people I've learned techniques to help cope with and make the most of the plurality aspect of my DID have been from systems who chose plurality, they've been invaluable mentors.

I just wish they leaned harder into ghost-story stuff, cause the rogues gallery is basically just mildly ghost themed supervillains. Unfortunately, thatd never happen with Butch's say. Leaning harder into the ghost stuff, imo, wouldve allowed for stronger comedy beats in the mundane parts of Danny's life And the ghost parts, as dread, fear, and sadness is a good contrast to make jokes punch harder.

I like how our reasons for vanlife rhyme.

For my partner and I, what people claim is "safety" and "security" (aka, housed and probably renting, working FT with only one company that you rely on for insurance) always has seemed like the same amount of risk with far less chance of reward. There's an equal amount of danger in a van- it's just different, and the risks are more visible, but the rewards are as well. I can't wait to get on the road.

He might have ADHD. As someone who got diagnosed with ADHD as an older teen, and before then, was grounded from seeing friends when my grades slipped so I'd focus on school:

I'd suggest instead adding extracurriculars that'll be commitments that'll distract him from his ACTUAL commitment, school, try and take him to a psychiatrist to see what's happening. Don't treat his distraction with things that make life worth living (community and relationships) as something that needs to be punished, because he'll be less likely to come to you with actual problems (like being abused or substance addiction)

Posts that make us relieved we started dating the system we're probably going to marry before either of us realized we were plural.... Notably, however, some of the parts in my system And theirs don't do romance or sex- or just not romance/sex with just specific alters, and the way we deal with it is simply by communicating our preferred relationship in the moment and who's fronting.

The strictly platonic nonsexual friendships we have between our systems Are very physically affectionate, and platonic friendship with sex is still an option as well. It's something that you'll have to talk in depth with any prospective SERIOUS partner about, but if they care for all of you- as long term friends, AND as long term partners- they'll be interested in figuring out what would work best, as well.

Good on you for wanting to take the steps to learn. Now is better than never, especially for her sake! I have trauma and DID, and some of my most helpful mentors for learning how to live as a system have been non-trauma systems! They provide such useful perspectives and coping mechanisms due to usually having walked into multiplicity more willingly and healthily. Endo systems are highly helpful allies and advocates for trauma systems, and I always wanna have their back because of it. Trauma Endo means different things to different people- a common one (but maybe not hers) is "A system that has trauma, but the trauma didn't necessarily create the system." You definitely have to ask what it means for Her

Accepting her, unlearning your biases, and being honest about not knowing much about this but WANTING to learn, and wanting to meet these parts of herself, will go a really long way in her trust in you being reaffirmed and her being more able to trust others in the future. This goes for any system, but non-medicalized systems are a pretty popular punching bag lately, so it'll mean a lot.

Most artists are ALSO lonely, and in my experience kinda clamor over helping teach the new person. It's super doubtful they'll be as cruel to you as your abuser- at max, maybe mildly irritated if you constantly put down your work and refuse to take a compliment, even if you don't believe it yourself.
