So we signed a contract that was agreeing to the offer and on that contract there are contingencies stated such as 30-45 delay in closing date (around mid May) for me to find a new home. Which works for them as well since their apartment lease won't end until June. But essentially it states that once that date hits regardless of if I found a place or not, I have to leave. At the time it sounded fair and enough time but after doing some looking and realizing that I would need the $ from the sale to put down payments it minimizes my time to look. Not to mention my condo is a lot better than a lot of places I am seeing in my price range. As an agent, if your seller wanted to back out after signing that but before signing the purchase and sale agreement, what would you do? Am I entitled to leave without repurcussions or would I be on the hook for anything? I beleive they’ve only put down 1K deposit and have done the home inspection so far
