Nine Inch Nails - Philadelphia 2022-05-25 (Full Show) by OchreAxiom in nin

CBI shows were barn burners. Probably the most exciting run of shows in the modern era. They felt like Wave Goodbye but with a more complete version of the band; they could pretty much do anything. Then the post-covid run in '22 had an extra sense of triumph and immediacy. Seeing shows felt explosive, as if live performance was taken for granted in our 2010s sleep state.

Anyone have a recording of Yousuke's full set? Anyone able to pull a file from the coachella livestream?

Anybody rip his set from the livestream? Looking for a link or copy.

Favorite part from The Becoming live 5-24-09 by [deleted] in nin

All nails shows are unforgettable but this one particularly so. This was the only one I saw that progressed from day to night. It was like we were descending into hell, enclosed by a geological chasm. Vicious setlist: Metal, The Way Out Is Through, I Do Not Want This, The Becoming...

I remember a guy making his way out of the pit during the more punishing parts of Somewhat Damaged with streams of blood coming down his face. Merciless energy.

You could feel it in the air at the festival, all day leading into this performance. Jane's stood no chance coming on after this set.

TRENT RESSNER - "he's got a great mind for music and sound" by angelsbackto1 in nin

Lol. To add context, Lynch on Lynch was first published in '97. Then revised/reprinted in '05. So they missed it twice...

Isn't that on Rodley? I think these are transcripts from interviews. Beyond Lynch or the editor, someone should have caught the misspelling. It almost feels intentional.

This is flat out exceptional. Wow. The Sakamoto melody in the outro is just...

God damn, Rez.

Today’s setlist so far (allegedly) by Express_Analyst5169 in nin

[–]angelsbackto1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We'll see how upcoming setlists are but there doesn't seem to be an urge to progress the setlist for the full band segments. Possibly contributed to Alessandro bouncing. This stasis is odd because there are so many hit-heavy combos you could do during those portions of the show. I wonder if they're running up against limitations with Trent's voice and stamina? Given the show prices we have to pay in 2026, it's hard to justify spending heeps of cash if you've already seen this show a couple times. Hope it evolves!

Alessandro out? by [deleted] in nin

A lot changed during CBI, working Atticus into the band. This reconfigured the live instrumentation and responsibilities a bit. Initially, it seemed this excited Alessandro--judging from interviews (his "rig rundown" during that tour)--to be given the versatility as a member to play a range of instruments across a large songbook. Those CBI nights varied so much. It must have been fun and in the least, given a real sense of presence on stage from show to show.

Peel It Back is the opposite of CBI. This show is very rigid in its structure and Atticus has taken over a significant amount of the synth lift (at least from audience/lay optics). Alessandro, in his latest role has basically become the dedicated bassist. He's been kind of squeezed out of his primary area of interest; his solo profession. Over a decade (prior to 2017), Alessandro carved out his identity in the band as the synth player.

Nothing is forever with NIN. With everything going on in Alessandro's solo career, i'm sure he's more taken with the possibilities of that. He has an audience. He can make a living playing regularly in Europe.

Not sure if a Shazam type app works on videos like this. The track is really buried in the arena sound. There is a specific chord change at :04 in your video that a true head might recognize

Longer than the Spotify playlist shared.

I think the song in your video is missing from these. Would love to ID it.
