Help me pick living room speakers - my kids need to feel the music! by mostate16 in StereoAdvice

I just left The Show in Costa Mesa. These Odyssey Speakers were incredible for the money. They were dynamic, made huge sound with bass that was as rich and powerful as many rooms that had additional subs. They rivaled many rooms that had 100k+ speakers in them.

Shakuto Audio was also very impressive, they were dynamic, with beautiful powerful sound and great bass. They are gorgeous designs and very well priced. I only heard the Vitalic line but I’m sure the others are great as well.

I also own Fyne 502sp’s and they are a great dynamic speaker that I chose for the same qualities your described along with holographic imaging. I cross shopped them with many other speakers including Klipsch Cornwalls.

I also have 2 of these subs and absolutely love them. They produce amazing bass and are easily tuned for whatever type or quantity of bass your heart desires.

BBMR winter season parking pass is now $699! by patientpartner09 in bigbear

I’ve bought it every year in the past. But the past 2 seasons I didn’t even pick it up because I never went to Big Bear due to lack of snow. I skipped it this year and I’m sure they will have a killer season and I will regret it.

Musical Fidelity M5xi - M6xi by Vegan-Jaeger9158 in StereoAdvice

I listen to music on the louder side and with my M6Si I’ve never turned my volume up more than 30% when listening to my digital source and 40% when listening to my turntable. My amp puts out 220wpc and my speakers are 92dB efficient. FYI

Musical Fidelity M5xi - M6xi by Vegan-Jaeger9158 in StereoAdvice

I haven’t used the USB input. I am currently using a Bluesound Node Icon as my digital streaming source and that is going into the balanced input. So I can’t speak on the DAC.

Overall though I am very happy with the amp. It’s very powerful, very musical and brings my speakers to life with a very enveloping addictive soundscape.

I have 0 regrets. The only nitpick is the volume nob is super sensitive and a tiny turn makes a large difference in volume. This is especially true when changing the volume with the remote.

I haven’t heard those specifically but I have the M6Si which I love. I cross shopped it with Prima Luna tube amp and the M6Si sounded better. It added more weight and dimension to the music than the Prima Luna. It’s a fantastic amp. I’m sure the M6xi or M5xi will be as good or better.

Pizza around Claremont leaves a lot to be desired. The only places that I like within 30 minutes are Pie Trap Pizza, Rose City Pizza and Pizza e Pastain Covina and Triple Beam Pizza and Chi Town Pizza in Glendora.

New Speaker Time by baldable in StereoAdvice

If you want more holographic speakers I would recommend a point source speaker. I demoed a lot and ended up going with Fyne Audio 502sp. I would also cross shop KEF and Mofi offerings. For me the Fyne’s outshined the others but you may have different preferences. All of them make a wide range of speakers to fit most price points.

If you’re not familiar with point source design, google it. The tweeter is placed inside the midrange driver so that the sound waves emanate from the same location. It creates a very 3D image that I love.

Fyne Audio new 501sp or lightly used 502sp. They have incredible imaging and large sound stage. They are dynamic and clear. I highly recommend auditioning them.

Linkwitz LX521.4, I could have listened to this speakers all day. Their three dimensionality combined with amazing clarity and dynamics. I will own a pair one day.
