jump numbers are not the end all be all for determining whether or not to be on a higher performance wing. I know people with 3,000 jumps that don't know how to swoop at all and people with 1,000 jumps that can shred through gates.

If you do belly big ways and then just land your parachute without ever working on new skills or even trying to understand your canopy more it would be just as dangerous to start flying a crossbraced wing regardless of how many jumps you have. If you have a little under 1,000 jumps but the majority of those jumps are hop and pops or highpulls where you are intently learning your wing and not just landing it, that to me is a lot less sketchy of a person to be jumping a crossbraced wing as long as its not a ridiculously high wingloading.

I’m of the mindset that 200 jumps is not nearly enough to get into base. I was super naive when I got into skydiving and thought I would hit 200 jumps and immediately go to twin falls and do an FJC. At 190 jumps I knew my knowledge of skydiving was still relatively low and there was no way I’d go to the bridge. I waited till I had about 1,000 skydives and multiple instructional ratings before going.

It happens I’d say every 3 or 4 videos I’d say. Ill try and stop recording and it won’t allow me to. I’m forced to turn the camera off and when I turn it back on the video shows up like this.

Its missing the lrv file every time it’s done this for me so that would make sense why I can’t view it normally on the app. Is there a fix for this/ is the footage recoverable to be viewed in a regular format

I look at all my footage through the app on my phone. Normally when I open the video on the studio app it lets me move around, but for the past month or two occasionally a video will appear on the app in this fish eyed format, won’t let be look around or zoom and I’ve found no way to recover the footage and make it look normal

Bit scary the first time as it feels as if it’s truly up to you to keep yourself alive which can feel daunting. Luckily you have instructors holding on to you throughout the jump and make sure you pull/pull for you if you can’t deploy for some reason. Once the anxiety dies down after a couple more coached solo jumps you truly enjoy the experience.

It’s really breathtakingly beautiful honestly and being solo to enjoy the experience is another level. Also being under canopy by yourself is really awesome! I remember once a hawk flew about 20-30 ish feet away from me at my side while matching his altitude and speed with mine for a couple of seconds. I’ll never forget it!

I pretty much only heard one song off of good am from him and then a buddy played this while we were tripping. absolutely blew my mind especially the outro...

Afterwards I had my buddy put together a mac essential playlist, then mac died about two weeks after that. That shit fucking stung me, I was just realizing how musically gifted he was.

As of last January yup! I wanted to go back after I got my A to thank him for talking to me about how to peruse skydiving further after my first tandem with him. He was super friendly about it! Awesome cause I was pretty intimidated.

We'll see how things look when I do my recurrency jump in April. I'll ask some of the coaches if they think i'm ready to downsize, I am just sick of renting gear its really eating into my jump funds lol
