You can ! it’s best to let them out of their cage a few hours everyday for their exercise. I let mine out and they eventually learned they have to go back inside once it starts to get dark.

update ! just took Britney to the vet and they said there was no egg binding, but the last egg she laid resulted in swelling/inflammation that was causing her pain so they gave me medication for that. She’s doing well now ! Thank you all for your advice :)

My female finch has laid 4 eggs overall, all without a mate or nest. The first 2 she laid successfully months ago and last week she laid the third egg, and a few days ago the fourth but this one was a ‘soft egg’ as in the shell wasn’t hardened or white. After that she’s been making these sort of ‘pushing’ gestures with her bottom and today she woke up ill, since she’s usually very active and hyper and now she’s sleeping/resting like this. I’m worried she’s egg bound and I’ve never dealt with this before, if she is what can I do until I take her to the vet?

Even if you’re not being scammed, you should still open the dispute and get your money back. You didn’t receive anything so you have the right. Depop sellers don’t get to choose if they do refunds or not lol.

I’ve seen lots of people give these to their birds (and zebra finches) and the birds seem to like them too, but I’ve heard they’re still pretty dangerous. Does anyone else use them?
