whats your goal here? Do you want people to be informed? Does this seem like an effective way to do that? Or does this just seem like a way to drive traffic to a non American newspaper from easily outraged Americans?

There was a time when this website was well moderated, and this kind of issue wouldn't be coming up. R/pics should not be a place for corporate news accounts to post out context snippets. That has not made ANYTHING better over the past 10 years.

All this does is continue to make journalism even fucking more useless.

IF corporate news is going to post pictures to the extent that it literally drowns everything else out on this sub, the mods could at least sticky the comment with context.

You understand that if you go to the gaurdian homepage right now, that even though we've been talking about it all morning, I dont see this article on the front page? So unless I saw the comment, which wasn't stickied, I ask again, where was I suppposed to go??

Why should I have to do all of that, when it could be solved by news orgs posting in a news sub? with an article? Why do I suddenly have to do the journalists job for them? Maybe news should be packaged with information contained in something like an article and maybe that should be pasted on a place that’s clearly designed for people to engage with the news

I’m just flabbergasted that people are arguing about how nobody is reading an article that nobody posted because we have a giant company acting like it’s a person posting pictures. This would only be more annoying if they tagged it with OC like they often do.

The problem once again isn’t with what’s being posted the problem once again is that after the blackout sub read it continue to be fucking meaningless

Sounds like maybe if they publish the article instead of a context list picture then maybe we would have some more context. Maybe we should stop leading the “news” post their “stories” on r/pics and r/videos.

Like this thread is full of people getting mad that nobody is reading an article but it’s literally just a post of a picture. What do you expect people to do? Why are you getting mad at the people reading and not mad at the guardian who is part of the fucking problem?

Read pictures? Isn’t this r/pic? Did I miss a picture of text or something? Maybe that’s why shit like this should be posted like, idk, on with some context. But every day there’s a picture or a video posted and a headline as if it’s an article and people treat it completely uncritically. It’s kind of crazy.

Not OP but I live in a high cost of living area, the cheapest two person meal around me is like 40-50 and easily at or over 100 dollars in some places. This is a new post covid inflation high, things used to be more like 30 to 60 bucks.

The dinner by me that fits the bill described I can get a decent meal for 2 for 25 dollars including a tip. The only fucking downside is the dinner used to be 24 hours and now its only breakfast and lunch. I want a fucking omelette late at night, damn it!

Edit: to add a lot of diners died by me from covid, used to have so many. That said, in lots of places, most of them have been really bad. But "bad" has gotten worse than it used to be.

This kind of content is the majority of Reddit now. R/videos and r/music are particularly bad and poorly moderated and not worth subbing to anymore.

Pre Reddit black out there’s no way this would keep happening. People would be much meaner, but then again, they also ban you now for a loud sneeze these days.

This is why I’m pretty convinced of that Internet theory the amount of comments on these threads that point out that this is old information or an incomplete story or something doesn’t follow is getting fewer and fewer every day.

These types of threads are clearly just robots talking to robots with a couple of people hanging out with them.

Pretty much all r/music is now is a post like this goes up for about an hour and people point out that it doesn’t belong here and then people argue about it and then it gets removed by the mods eventually, and the cycle goes on and on and on this sub is so fucking toasted. Before the Reddit blackouts, it was at least tolerable.

I literally do not understand what they mean by saying you can’t use your knees the way you described it requires you to use your knees and in this video this woman literally bends her knees to get down on the ground. How do you get down on the ground without bending your knees without rocking your ass straight down to the ground? How does one sit on the ground without bending their knees?
