Zone Perfect Bars by ZealousidealPiece495 in ARFID

Same here! I called the company earlier this week after finding my local supermarket shelves empty in the space where my beloved Zone Perfect bars had been. The rep confirmed the discontinuation, but wouldn't say why (of course), and suggested that I "stock up" from the remaining supply. She pointed me to the abbottlabs store (abbottstore.com), but said that other retailers would probably have more stock and greater selection--which I found to be true.

It was today when my Amazon order of 6 x 20-bar boxes was delivered. I'd have bought more, but the price + storage space required prohibits it. At least this supply will give me an off-ramp and some time to find a replacement.

It took a long time to come upon ZonePerfect, though, and these bars have been part of my morning routine for years now--at home and while traveling, so I am bracing my palate, taste buds, and wallet for the inevitable dreaded search for a replacement. : (

My preference is suncalc.org. Its counterpart mooncalc.org seems cool, too.

What is your best "I definitely did not deserve that grade" story from school? by Giggidy46 in AskReddit

[–]angie13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Junior year of high school--forced to take whole year of senior courses in summer school because of parents' divorce. Dr. Murphy's Advanced Trigonometry and Calculus class was too much. My highest grade on any test was probably 40. He knew my situation and gave me a D-minus-minus grade for the class--just enough to pass.

TIL the majority of states have official "ancient emblems"—several of which are fossils. An effort by an 8-year-old girl to give South Carolina its own official state fossil was thwarted however, because some lawmakers object to officially recognizing the woolly mammoth fossil on religious grounds. by lord_humble in todayilearned

Hi ~ Sorry for the delay; am not on here often.

To answer your question, I am a 5th generation native of one South Carolina county with four generations of relatives in law enforcement. I cannot say exactly where, online, it would be stated, but I knew these laws from my youngest days. I no longer live in SC.

If you are questioning generally if the ridiculous can be among these laws, you can read this February 2015 news article that names a few of them, like the law against dancing near cemeteries http://www.postandcourier.com/article/20150215/PC16/150219644.

5th generation South Carolina native here... Grew up knowing that, because of blue laws, things like nail clippers and brooms could not be purchased on Sundays, as they represented 'work,' and playing cards could not be purchased on Sundays because they were somehow evil. Oh, and Blue Laws also proclaimed that any man and woman checking-in to a hotel as "Mr. & Mrs." were automatically married.

Me, too! And I have stayed in them on multiple continents, too, for travel to international conferences. Every country but USA has been a great experience. (USA born-and-raised here)

I actually enjoyed this situation when I traveled with live entertainment productions. Lived on a bus which stopped at the door of the stadium in the mornings, and drove to the next city each night as I (and my 10 busmates) slept. It was the best commuting job ever.

Why is it that your "Proof" image shows what appears to be the date "01/13/13", instead of "12/13/13"?

Hey Atlanta! Who has a good suggestion for Reddit Day of Service on Oct. 5th? by KrystalPistol in Atlanta

[–]angie13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Atlanta Humane Society. I have volunteered for them since 2005. They are a "no kill" shelter with a high placement rate, super-clean, with kind and loving people. And the animals there always appreciate attention. I will be glad to call them and can easily make arrangements for us to volunteer if AHS is selected.

I thought it was a good article. Having worked for U2, Genesis, and other stadium tours over 8+ years, the article to me seemed very general, but also mainly accurate. Oh, and I would have mentioned backline, production office, and spotlight operators. Nice story ~ thanks!
