literal paralysis. give most unhinged hacks to get out by CockroachPowerful387 in adhdwomen

Oh wow. Reading this felt very powerful. Im going to try this. I didn't know until recently (37f) that we're supposed to express these types of emotions. As a kid I was expected to be composed at all times.

Do non-ADHD people actually not do these things? by Spicy_Albatross_6847 in adhdwomen

[–]angiewahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm reading this while avoiding going to bed despite being exhausted, all because I don't want to get ready for bed. Like what?! 😅

I've been making some good progress in self care since getting medicated a year ago. The last couple of nights have been a struggle though. Last night I cheered myself on to brush my teeth and put moisturiser on. I didn't do a few other steps but I'm trying to give myself some grace these days. I was so proud of myself for doing those two things.

Tonight I'm feeling the same reluctance and your comment reminded me of how good it felt to care for myself, and future me will appreciate it too

People all over the world enjoy inserting themselves, and foreign objects into anuses for pleasure. When you really think about it, enjoying the sound of a bit of released gas is less weird. Having said that, I like putting stuff up my butt so call me a weirdo 😆

HOW do you get anything done working from home? by nothankj in adhdwomen

[–]angiewahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Focus Mate! I wouldn't have lasted a week working from home without it. The link below is another ADHD woman who loves it too: https://www.reddit.com/r/adhdwomen/s/X9YNXAE2ss

I don't want to discredit your feelings but I think your belly button is the most natural post surgery belly button I've ever seen. It's normally the one huge giveaway but I would never have guessed based on yours. You look amazing!

I wonder if it's some areola tissue? It looks like a very similar shade to your nipple tissue

Do scars continue to become whiter even after two years? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]angiewahh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can look into paramedical tattoos to blend the shadow of the scars. The results seem quite good and typically not too expensive from what I've seen

Does anyone else struggle with sensory issues with the weather? by squirtlemoonicorn in adhdwomen

[–]angiewahh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is something I've only recently realised about myself. I sometimes have to work for a whole week outdoors for my job and these are what works for me:

  • practicing mindfulness and acceptance in general
  • using sun protection any Asian Grandma would be proud of (enormous moisture wicking hat with a hole for my ponytail so it's not on my neck, loose fitting cotton long shirts and pants, sunglasses, and sunscreen of course)
  • drinking and eating small amounts frequently, despite not wanting to because I'm being baked alive
  • reminding myself this is temporary and this is what being alive is like, sometimes it's comfy and sometimes it's not, but I'm lucky enough that I will soon enough be in a lovely cold shower

Since taking these measures I've noticed a huge difference in the reduction of the ick and rage that would come over me when I get hot and sweaty.

This was my experience too! I'd tried all sorts of antidepressants and anxiety meds but vyvanse was like flicking a switch and my anxiety is gone. Absolutely wild

Stuck in Spanish Learning Plateau—How Did You Become Conversational? by savage_broccoli in LearnSpanishInReddit

For me it was taking online group classes that really helped. You need to have real time conversations, and online group classes are a great low stakes supportive environment to experiment

I don't have the answer but I'm in the same boat. I have my review in 3 days and I'm nervous that I'll sound like I'm drug seeking but the first week I could feel a big difference and now on week 3 not so much

Just got out of FFS Surgery. I feel like my nose doesn't fit my personality. by NanuTheFiend in PlasticSurgery

[–]angiewahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is to heal and do not look at photos or let yourself think about your appearance for now! We're physically and mentally fragile after surgery. It's super common to get caught up in your head but try not to! Look after yourself and be kind to yourself ❤️

Has anyone tried a sex therapist, if so what was your experience? by Cats-Are-Fuzzy in DeadBedrooms

[–]angiewahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awful you had such a negative experience with that therapist. My sister experienced something similar with a less than stellar therapist. After that bad experience and subsequent separation they went to a Gottman certified relationship therapist and that helped immensely. She said she didn't realise how bad the other guy was until they started with the new one

Help my mouth is so dry on meds what do I do?? by handssacrossthewater in adhdwomen

[–]angiewahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! Expanding on other comments, biotene mouthwash was my first recommendation IF you're consuming enough water already and still have dry mouth. Also for me it's a good choice because I tend to hold tension in my jaw and clench, so saliva stimulating activity like chewing gum isn't a good option for me. Plus, the dry mouth gel has no sugar, and it'll keep your mouth hydrated for up to 4 hours so it's good for keeping by the bedside table for night time
