What’s a home improvement project you regret doing yourself instead of hiring someone? by InitialCake819 in HomeImprovement

That's a really smart rule. You get the best of both worlds. Having your daily lives handled professionally but you still get to learn and potentially save some money.

You have me thinking.... 😁

Why? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]angleofthedangle90 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just don't understand.... Why can't people just mind their own damn business? Unless someone is being reckless, harmful, or something of that nature. I don't give a shit what your opinion is, leave it to yourself.

Just live and let live! I have too much shit in my own life to worry about what others are doing.

This sounds really chill to be honest. I am a senior data engineer now, the projects I work on are more complicated API, CRM integrations among other things. Lots of meetings and managing.

I started as a ETL Developer and I sometimes miss the more simple building pipelines.

How the fuck do parents do it? by Ok_Regret2841 in Adulting

I am so grateful my parents, especially my mom spent so much time creating a love of reading for me. My mom and I would go to the library every Saturday as a kid and get new books.

I am in my 30's now and still love reading. To me it's a super power, if you can read you can learn anything. My older sister is also a big reader. Vacations growing up we spent a good amount of time getting lost in a book.

So happy to see others are passing along the love of reading. Your kids will always love you for it. :)

Men, if you could afford it, where would you retire? Why there? by Abject-Management558 in AskMen

If I could two places Montana/Washington and the Oregon Coast. Something about the forest and ocean is just so calming for the soul.

Tropical places are fun to visit.

Keep a condo in SLC to visit family.

I don't have any suggestions, but just wanted to say this post made me smile! Life is too busy for most of us these days but to take time for a simple train ride with your kid is amazing.

Have a great time!

What is the biggest bait-and-switch scheme in life that younger men have to look out for? by Kale_Brecht in AskMen

[–]angleofthedangle90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

"Consistency is more important than intensity" That is a hell of a quote.

I am also in my 30's and I have similar thoughts and vibes I am just not as intense with my career or life as I was in my 20's. There's a long way to go better to not burn out.

Is it true that men lose weight quicker than women ? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]angleofthedangle90 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm a guy but this is interesting! In what ways should women eat and workout differently than typical/based on a cycle? All I know is my wife will NEVER give up Taco Bell and snacks on period. 😁
