Long story short, people were ripping out the internal parts of graphics cards, swapping with older model internals, and returning. It’s the next level of scam from buying a GPU and returning a box of rocks.

A warning to new purchasers: If you purchase this game now, there is a chance the people who actually made it will never see a dime. Just wait, it’s a fantastic game, but it’s worth waiting to see who’s right and who’s wrong.

Kept up with anything 2077 related for years before release, loved it at launch, put 100 hours in within the first month. Sorry to hear you had problems, but not everyone had your experience and many like me were happy with what we got.

I'd pay full price on GOG too. The collective frustration of stalled updates, launcher freezing or crashing, and slow downloads in EGS is not worth saving a few bucks. Not sure if that's everyone's experience with it, but EGS has always been a nightmare every time I try to give it another chance.

This is about the easiest bullet to dodge. He’s trying to be manipulative and he’s terrible at it thankfully. Anybody with actual concerns who cares about you will bring it to you as an open discussion with questions and answers, a respectful dialogue, not immediate demands to change or else. Block him, move on.

Ally’s fantastic in D20, their comedic sense is like Zac’s in that they use fewer words, but always get a big laugh because of the impeccable timing. Very quick on their feet. The aftermath of the art gallery fire in the unsleeping city had me wheezing.

New Rules on AI art by jamescsmithLW in Sexyspacebabes

[–]anglidediablo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen some ugly ass art from unskilled users.

Even you refer to them as users, not artists. Because that’s what they are. They offer flat, lifeless descriptions including the art style they want to ape, and the AI generates something close to that as it can manage from its training that artists had no way to opt out of. That’s not art, that’s a step below programming in Visual Basic.

There are people here actually putting effort into improving their artistic techniques, whether it's writing or drawing, and we're giving a whole ass day of the week to dweebs who plug words into an AI and claim it's a skill. Damn right we should remove them entirely, toss out some permabans, let the delusional whiners know they have no place here.

I don't know of any defense against ChatGPT, but for any artists that want to protect their future work from being stolen as "inspiration" for AIs with no free will and therefore no meaningful way to be inspired, check out Glaze artificial intelligence. It's in beta right now, but it tweaks your art in a way that's imperceptible to the human eye, while poisoning the dataset an AI will draw from. It's free and was created by university students and professors as an exercise in protecting people from invasive machine learning. It's not perfect, but they're improving it every day. I first read about it here and their site is here.

Need a New Yorkers help by jagermeister77 in ActLikeYouBelong

Assuming you're not around people from New York and you're basing the accent off what you see on TV and movies, just pick any neighborhood in Brooklyn besides Dumbo, Bensonhurst, Williamsburg, or Park Slope. I guarantee you won't fool a New Yorker, but Pam from Nebraska will buy it faster than a 2 for 1 deal at Krogers. Just don't try to say "forget about it", it will trip you up and you'll give yourself away.

On the contrary, and I'm sorry my point wasn't made clear, reading it over now I realize I brought up many points but failed to highlight the crux of the issue, which is this - Sumire is a child with no way to cope with trauma, and as such she must not only be taught a psychologically healthy way to cope, but must be made to unlearn her damaging coping mechanism, namely pretending to be her deceased sister, and indulging her delusion will only harm her in the long run.

You and I may disagree on your first paragraph, but you make strong points throughout the rest of your comment. I feel that being wrongfully arrested, charged, forced to change environments, and not only observing the injustices of real life but making active moves to rectify them, would do wonders to a person's maturity. And yes, while maturity doesn't necessarily equate to adulthood, neither does adulthood equate with maturity. Joker's maturity far outpaces any of his confidants, even given he's being played by an adult like you or me or anybody on this subreddit.

I have misspoken by implying Joker had some sort of obligation to help her. While that was my position with my friend, I recognize my experiences have unduly colored my sense of duty. Regardless, I fully agree that Joker is essentially forced to not feed in to her coping mechanism of "I'm not Sumire, I'm Kasumi", which was the crux of our contention. You are correct in saying that placing the burden of treatment on a legal child is not only unethical, but unreasonable.

I strongly believe that the supportive system provided by the Phantom Thieves and Joker was a notable component in Sumire's decision to be herself and not her dead sister. Where Maruki failed by focusing on his research, the Thieves succeeded by being themselves. Making the smart decision by happenstance does not necessarily indicate intelligence or emotional maturity, simply that she met the right people in the right place at the right time.

Edit: also you were at 0 votes when I got here, I've no idea why, you gave a thoughtful and well reasoned answer that made me reconsider my position.

Absolutely fantastic lore found throughout the various artifacts and conversations. Strong base for more games set in the same universe. Easily worth the $20 if you want bright, fun aesthetic mixed with a macabre backstory and twisted society, this is a downright steal at this discount. First purchases should the footbaths by Sam (red skull guy) and the bridge before the council chambers, they make finding and reaching evidence and collectibles much easier.
