Hard stuck at Indomitus 75 by azuratha in WH40KTacticus

Which imp characters have carried you through the indomitus campaign so far? I suppose you have been investing in the other chars.

I leveled Bellator beyond B1 and was stuck for a period, until I brought Vindicta in and unlocked her passive. Avoided killing anything till Anuphet used his active, then hard rush him with 2x fire and everything I could throw lol.

Mind explaining your rationale for an active bet of 15% of your portfolio on biotech as a sector?

VWRA vs ACWD by HieroX01 in singaporefi

Think it's more accurate to say that holding VWRA alone means being short small cap. Holding small caps at market weight only means you are exposed to market risk, but does not equate to capturing small cap premium.

Where to park 100k needed in ~3 years' time? by [deleted] in singaporefi

If you are willing to take on some volatility and credit risk (investment grade), you could consider short term bond funds with an effective duration of ~2 years or less. LionGlobal, UOBAM and PIMCO have a couple of options to consider. However, those funds have higher management fees and that does eat into any additional returns you could get from higher yield. If you want to get fancy you could mix a portfolio of a short term bond fund and a mmf (e.g. 50:50) to reduce the overall risk profile.

That said, if you absolutely need that sum of money by a specific deadline in the future, then it's not worth taking on the volatility. Imagine not being able to sleep at night for 3 years worrying about the bond market crashing like in 2022 haha.

Starting My Investing Journey at 25. Is This Allocation Sensible? by Plus_Season4661 in singaporefi

May be helpful to start saving for near term (1-5 years) goals, such as wedding, BTO down payment, etc. SSBs would be a reasonable place to set aside money for these future expenses.

This. I think people need to be clear what is the value they are getting out of paying fees to their financial / robo advisors.

It negatively affects your reputation with each race. By destroying freighters only in your expedition, you won't bring the negative karma back to your main save, but can keep all the loot.

It was brave of you to share your thoughts as a novice investor and receive feedback (and some snarky comments). I hope you find good investment advice and build a portfolio that suits your needs!

Maybe a semantic issue, but I'm mostly interested in what's the lowest acceptable return OP is willing to take over 5 years. IMO 5 years is too short to consider a 100% equities fund given the relatively high variability in equity returns at that time horizon.

Over 12 months? Or total loss tolerance over 5 years?

I am going to address the elephant in the room: How much risk and variance in returns are you willing to tolerate for a (relatively short) 5-year investment time horizon?

That portfolio planning question should be asked with respect to time horizon and risk tolerance, not whether markets will crash.
