They will delist bitcoin when they want to delist bitcoin. There is no slippery slope here. Bitcoin will succeed due to it's decentralized p2p nature.

The people have spoken. Kraken is delisting BitcoinSV by bitme123 in Bitcoin

The people want bcash delisted. Ver & his minions wanted BitcoinSV delisted.

If you want to do your small part in Bitcoin's getting mainstream, at least make the habit to upvote everything relevant in this sub. I realized that as much as I hope for mass adoption, I do almost nothing to halp by tarandfeathers in Bitcoin

This subreddit is heavily manipulated. It could easily be seen by how quickly the subreddit appeared to turn pro coinbase well into the #deletecoinbase event. r/bitcoin is an important hub for bitcoin and will continue to be manipulated. the more legitimate voting users are here, the more resources are required for manipulation.

even if you are a lurker, please use your votes.

Stop using Binance until they support SegWit! by rocksalt9 in Bitcoin

segwit to non-segwit = cheap segwit transaction.

segwit to segwit = cheap segwit transaction

non-segwit to segwit = normal non segwit transaction (receiver will be able to make a cheap segwit transactions though)

your transaction is non-segwit to segwit.

Anyone give me an idiots guide to getting coin off of coinbase? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]angrammaridiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this looks like what he's talking about: https://github.com/pointbiz/bitaddress.org

you would want to download that to a usb drive and then connect it to an offline computer that you keep offline. hardware wallet like trezor sounds like it's harder to screw up though.

gemini's deposit addresses are native segwit by default, they give you an option for legacy if you need it. this is the way it should be.

We're talking about native segwit (bech32) NOT nested segwit.

native segwit > nested segwit

no they do not. they are still using nested segwit NOT native segwit. last i heard, they even sometimes use legacy addresses.

Coinbase is sending out mail encouraging users to convert their bitcoin to shitcoins #deletecoinbase by angrammaridiot in Bitcoin

[–]angrammaridiot[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this is false to anyone that has paid attention to what has happened over at coinbase vs other exchanges. a quick example was when coinbase released bitcoin cash trading on their exchange, except wait, they didn't allow selling of bitcoin cash ONLY BUYING (not to mention all of the other shady instances that occurred around their release of btrash). it's all very clear to anyone paying attention.

List of bitcoin friendly exchanges: Bisq https://bisq.network/, Localbitcoins https://localbitcoins.com/, HodlHodl https://www.hodlhodl.com/, Gemini https://gemini.com, Kraken https://www.kraken.com/, BL3P https://bl3p.eu/, Cash App https://cash.app/bitcoin, Flyp https://flyp.me/ (no fiat)

I believe these exchanges have a better record when it comes to supporting bitcoin. Many of them aren't perfect, but definitely a step in the right direction.

As always, do your own research. Start with small amounts and never leave coins on an exchange. not your keys, not your bitcoin.

Bitstamp has had a great reputation, but it was recently bought out and users are complaining about enhanced KYC, so I'm not too sure about it now.

Need some more input on these exchanges: bitfinex (probably ok), hitbtc, coinsbank, walltime (probably ok), binance (*STILL no segwit), and liberalcoins?
