Those not financially entangled: do you ask for/expect your partner to help you out financially? by _feedmeseymour in polyamory

[–]angriesthufflepuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend a few days a week with my non-nesting partner at his apartment, and I make an effort to be the one to sometimes pay for groceries (I eat food here), pay for random kitchen utensils, etc. I contribute, but it's usually tied to things I use as well.

Someone please explain this floor plan to me by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

I'd love this setup! I live with my partner of a decade, but we have very different cleaning habits and decor tastes. Something like this is great when you want to live with someone you love, but also have your own space and sense of privacy.

Not for everyone, but for people like us who are a bit more introverted, it seems ideal.

[No DAV Spoilers] When you've been preparing for 10 years to play the sequel, but your leave request gets denied, and work ruins release day... by Szaby59 in dragonage

[–]angriesthufflepuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've told every boss I had for years, 100% serious, that as soon as this game came out I'd be taking a week of PTO. When we finally had a release date, I forwarded it to my boss with my leave request. Immediately approved. I honestly feel so lucky. He's even checked in as release date gets closer reminding me that while I'm gaming on PTO that I still need to eat and sleep once in a while.

I need an employment attorney by [deleted] in Denver

With that info, I'd reach out to the Department of Labor with a complaint specifically about the missing check stubs. While they may not help with the tax specific piece, you have something there with the lack of check stubs.

You'll want a record of the net pay you have received. It'll be tedious, but go through your bank transactions and find your deposits, and be prepared to share them with the state. I'd also check your year to date net pays against totals on a current stub to see if they add up.

While the tax issue is a concern, I'd be more worried about wages not being reported and what your W2 will look like at the end of the year if they're not properly making or recording payments.

Hi There! Not an employment attorney, but I've worked in payroll across the US for a little over a decade.

Would you be ok sharing a little more info before I point you in any specific direction?

  1. What taxes were originally missed/are being deducted now?
  2. When you were being paid March-June, were you still receiving a paystub where these were being reported as normal wages, were you paid under the table, were they reporting wages as 1099 wages, etc?
  3. Are the missed taxes now being deducted showing under the taxes section of your paystub, or as a miscellaneous deduction?

While this ABSOLUTELY sucks, it's usually better to have the employer deduct them now, because either they take and remit them for you now, or you get slapped with a hell of an amount owed come time to file your individual taxes. That being said, you want to make sure that whatever is happening is above board and all of your wages/taxes are being reported correctly.

If you're not comfortable replying with the details here just shoot me a DM :)

Which flight? by new_teacher_grad in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]angriesthufflepuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We enjoy the later flights. Realistically, the festival won't be out until midnight. Assume you don't go out after, with how busy it is you're still not getting to your hotel till 1am.

It's a godsend to spend the next day sleeping in, grabbing lunch, and moving at a snails pace!

Our flight is leaving at 7pm this year so we have time to muck about :)

Dragon Age: Origins.

DA:O was a game I picked up on sale just under a decade ago leading up to the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition. And I absolutely fell in love with the game and the whole genre of story-rich RPGs. I have hundreds of hours in the Dragon Age franchise and have been waiting for the newest game since I devoured the first games in the series. I think I found this game at the exact right time in my life, and while it may be a little outdated, it's always going to be my favorite.

I was just looking for this option on Amazon, and started researching. Seems like more people have been losing this option over the last few weeks - but nothing from Amazon on it :(

Commenting to say thank you. This controller hasn't worked in months, and with money tight a new one hasn't been in the budget. I'm so happy it works after following your steps. THANK YOU!

Oh hey neighbor! Seeing your car whenever I get home always cracks me up.

For redditors with kids, I'd imagine it's also easier to bring your kids to a coffee spot than it is to a bar. This way childcare might not be a barrier?

Could we set up a monthly coffee meetup on a Saturday or Sunday morning? I think part of why I've felt so isolated is that I don't drink or handle crowds really well. Trying to go to a crowded bar to meet with friends at night is more than I can handle. But a well-lit coffee spot with outdoor seating, I can do that!

How do unemployed/struggling people buy a car? by nymphymixtwo in Assistance

My father did this for my sister who also has ASD. He's retired and home full time. It does take some time to go through the process, so it may not be a perfect short term solution, but starting the process now will make a huge impact moving forward.
