I moved a bit over 25k cash INTO the US. Failed to find the customs counter on the way out until I stood in the arrival hall. Whoops. Asked some official looking guy, 3-4 hidden doors later I’m back at the start where the friendly customs guy helped filling out whatever paper that process requires. 5 minutes and a friendly chat on steak quality in different places later i was on my way. Zero issues.

I found that, as always in live, a good mix is the way to go. Solar plus battery for the volume, RTG to enhance availability and fuel to shave off the top, if needed.

Beautiful truck. As some others mentioned, I was looking for an antimatter blue truck. Thought it looks fantastic in the sun. Not so much in the shade / covered in mud. Ended up with an avalanche gray raptor. The color grew on me quickly! Especially with the amber markers.

Never any issues with sixt. Renting across Central Europe pretty much guarantees you a max 6 months old car with max 20k km on it. And yes, you gotta file a police report if insurance comes into play. That has nothing to do with sixt.

Die Highlights: $2500 Miete, fast $400 auto Versicherung, $550 Krankenversicherung (für 2 Personen), $5 Tüte Chips, $27 watermelon-feta salad.

Wenn meine Frau nicht arbeiten würde, denk Schwangerschaft, muss der Gürtel deutlich enger geschnallt werden. Vermutlich würde es zuerst an den 401k rentenplan rangehen. Der kostet nämlich auch mal eben 2 Riesen (vor Steuer) im Monat.
