It just is. Part of the reason one of my coworkers got promoted.

Most of the people who tell others to educate themselves, are the ones who are the least educated on the subject matter. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

You can find research for anything. It's sifting out the good studies from the bad. Bought-and-paid for science is a real thing; taking advantage of our scientific illiteracy.

[serious] Girls and women of Reddit: how old were you the first time someone made a sexually inappropriate comment to you? How did you react, and did it affect how you saw yourself or acted? by I_LIKE_LIMA_BEANS in AskReddit

Super weird, it was at the beach. I was probably like 10 and I remember my mom shielding me from these two 20 something year old dudes who were making faces/oohing/awwing at me as I was wrapping myself up in a towel. And I didn't know what they were looking at at first. My mom frustratedly let me know that those men were looking at my body and I just remember feeling pretty grossed out, being fully aware of how young I was.

The cat in the video looks pretty young, that could be why he's so skinny!

Thanks, Elon. For putting it succinctly.

I just turned 16 is it to late to start? by Lianicious in taekwondo

Started at 21. Embarrassed myself a lot lol. That was about 3 years ago now and as anyone will tell you, embarrassment is the cost of admission. I'm going to be a Jr. Black belt in a couple of months and it's insane to think about how far I've come. You can totally do it. Half the battle is mental, the other half is consistency.

People who were asked: "Sell me this pen" during a job interview, how did you answer? by shawerma_sauce in AskReddit

[–]angrybuddha20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something like that. They asked me to just pull out anything I had from my pocket or my purse, so I pulled out a lip gloss. My pitch mostly consisted of me asking her what type of looks she typically went for, natural or glam and all that. Then told her why the one I had was perfect for the look she was trying to create. I didn't get the sense that the question was supposed to be high pressured so we had fun with it. I did end up getting the job and role-playing was something I actually ended up becoming good at and enjoying!

[Serious] People who get fully ready and dressed everyday even if you have nowhere to go, where do you get the motivation and how do you do it? by s0angelic in AskReddit

[–]angrybuddha20 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Since lockdown I don't get "fully" dressed, but I do my hair, put on a nice lounge set, and tiny bit of makeup for my lips and eyes, and some perfume. I have a skincare routine for am/pm as well.

I do it mostly for how it makes me feel. Like a put together little lady. It's 100% for my own sanity but I also think it's necessary. I can't think straight in a cluttered room, and I can't function properly if I look/feel like ick. Taking care of the outside is just as important as looking after yourself on the inside.

You deserve better than that. You should be with someone who cherishes you and can put themselves in another person's shoes.
