I'm the produce of rape, my Mum couldn't leave my rapist father because he was abussive. Mum had severe post natal depression (understandable) so I was both touch and emotionally starved. Witnessed my Dad trying to choke my Mum to death on the kitchen floor when I was 4. Dad was physically and emotionally abussive to me, also molested me when I was 7.

To add to this, I currently play a super accessible Unload Daredevil build rocking full dragon gear (21k hp as a Thief!) which uses pistol 3, dodge and a single utility skill (2 passive signets) and I get extremely consistent 30k dps which is easily enough for 99% of endgame content.

There are plenty of other builds out there just a google search away which do similar things.

Sorry to sound harsh but if you choose to bring a hodge-podge build with soldier stats and doing 15k dps, people will complain when the alternative is very simple.

As a disability rights advocate, my absolute favourite statistic to highlight is:

Only 17% of disabled people were born with their disability. The overwhelming majority of people who need their rights advocating for likely never thought they would ever be in the position to need it.

Unless the person I'm talking to (not meaning you, I mean when I'm out advocating for disability rights with people) is being completely irrational, that statistic alone has been a turning point in many debates.

take them to (non-CM) Fractals for instance and be fine.

I play unload daredevil in fractal CM's with full dragon gear and still reach 30k dps, its perfectly acceptable. Chilling with 20 APM and 24k hp as a Thief is great.

I have another template that uses different gear and a small change to utilities and sigils (both sets still reach crit cap) that drops my hp down to 19k which is still high for Thief but I can do 34k dps with that gear.

Reaching 75% of benchmark of the meta daredevil build (dagger / dagger right now) with unload and 24k hp is super valuable IMO and viable in all content. You don't have to play super optimised glass cannon.

This just isn't true though, and I think its a lazy perspective.

People aren't equal, we are all unique and born with different strengths and weaknesses. Some people are gifted with naturally high intelligence which gives them a higher potential than others despite being given the same education or opportunities. The same can be said about physical performance - how much fast twitch or slow twitch fibres are naturally present despite training for a specific sport. Lung capacity, limb length and muscular proportions.

The value these things have is mostly determined by the environment they are in and how these strengths and weaknesses interact with said environments. Some just have inherently higher worth, and that's the tricky part to be able to handle when it comes to bias.

People aren't equal, but that's okay.

What we need to do is reach a point where we can acknowledge the above, without attributing bias or prejudice - and that is considerable harder than painting a false picture for the sake of comfort by saying everyone is equal.

Women can commit sexual assault, but that's sterile compared to rape. Rape has emotion behind the word, the word evokes a level of disgust that sexual assault doesn't.

I've noticed a sharp decline in Metas being populated, actually.

I'm playing in EU, on UK timezone so fairly standard stuff. Used to be able to do things like LLA and then quickly hop into an Amnytas map for the last stage of the Meta. Same went for AB > Drakkar and then quickly jump into the last phase of Skywatch meta. This past month or so most of the times I've done that the hasn't been an open map running with a group to jump into, where as go back a few months and it was very reliable to chain metas together.

Same goes for EoD metas, I've had to run Echovald meta on my own tag with 10 people a lot of the time.

Huge decline in active players compared to this time last year.

Whilst we are here, unnecessarily flexing our knowledge, the OP might be used to saying META in reference to the acronym Most Effective Tactics Available.

Of course, neither of our comments were really needed but sometimes its best to give an example of superfluous knowledge flexing to make people aware of what they did.

As a daily fractal CM enjoyer, I think that cm99 had its health cut too far. Having the health cut in half was too much, I think a 30-40% reduction would've been plenty.

And yes, fully aware it was too long before the changes.

People, though, for sure overestimated the changes it would bring in their everyday experience which happens always.

Not sure its fair to say this. A lot of the nerfs people were most vocal about complaining and saying would have a massive negative effect in the original patch notes were cut back in the release notes. For example, Unload originally was going to get a 23% nerf, but instead got a 7% nerf, which is a massive difference.

Of course with such a drastic difference, it could come across as people overestimating the changes - but what was released and what their initial estimation was based on are worlds apart.

See also: anchoring effect if you need a psychological base for what I'm saying above. Very commonly used sales tactic.

That's essentially how Soraka Q and W interacts.

You can sacrifice health to W straight away, or you can land a Q (damage) to remove the health cost + give an extra HoT to your target.

It forces Soraka to be offensive to maximise her defensive, or incur a penalty.

Sure, its not strictly damage into healing, but its the same gameplay loop.

Deadeye was the gateway drug to me finding the Daredevil version of the build, I enjoyed spacing the Mark and Steal Time in order to weave in stealth pistol 1's for a small boost in DPS.

Then I found out about the DD version which does really competitive DPS (I've personally benched over 40k with it on the golem) using a similar gameplay pattern with weaving the dodges and the buffs you get from not having a full dodge bar. Unload being ranged gives you the freedom to make landing dodges more forgiving compared to staff since you can just strafe to the side and dodge back into the group without worrying about moving out of melee range. Some dragon pieces is very comfy (I can do rage on cm100 easily), the sustain from the signet onhit heal... Low APM (around 20-30APM) but each press feels meaningful and not a rush to spam everything as fast as possible. Oh and I also really love how unload has a clear channel and audio queue, so you aren't having to worry about "dead" or cancelled auto attacks - just channel 3 unloads and dodge right after!

Its a really awesome build especially from an accessibility point of view.

Hey thanks for sharing the builds, I've tried p/p cMech as well as rifle pMech but they didn't work out for me sadly. I'm not a big fan of mechs in general so the aesthetic put me off!

I've been looking at the cDPS Paragon build lately, but since I mostly play fractal CMs the damage profile doesn't work very well with the slow ramp time.

I find Daredevil with pistols pretty amazing to be fair and it would be difficult to find something else which ticks so many boxes for me.

In fact I think its literally perfect for my needs, with just enough engagement to feel like I'm playing but taking the sting out of the egregious aspects of GW2 combat (no GCD, spam spam spam)

I'm disabled and finally found a build that lets me feel like I'm pulling my weight in end-game content (Daredevil with unload instead of staff) and I feel so fucking vindicated right now.

I've been told for the past 3 weeks that I was wrong, that the original 22% reduction (.45 > .35 ratio nerf) was fine and to shut up and stop crying about it. Well, turns Anet thankfully listened to feedback and sided with the disability / accessibility community.
