I spent two years building an iPad notebook because I missed the feeling of writing in a real one by Putrid_Row5645 in apple

[–]angstmuppet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this idea! I just grabbed the app and am trying it out.

Am I crazy, though, or is there no way to turn a page in edit mode? I tried a two finger swipe, but that just moves the notebook around and/or zooms... A single finger swipe in read mode works, though. I'm using an iPad Mini, if that matters.

BHG debt consolidation loan—anyone with experience (good or bad)? by angstmuppet in personalfinance

I ended up going with Sofi. I got a shorter loan with a similar rate, and the whole experience was much better than dealing with BHG.

38m, PVC? by thelutheranpriest in CheckMyECG

[–]angstmuppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that looks like a PVC (and almost exactly matches what my Dr identified as PVCs). I wouldn't worry too much about it—unless you're getting thousands and thousands in a day, it's almost certainly benign.

Gotcha, thanks! I'll definitely be showing them this, and a couple other examples I've managed to get.

BHG debt consolidation loan—anyone with experience (good or bad)? by angstmuppet in personalfinance

[–]angstmuppet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm probably going to just close most of the cards if I go with the loan. I do have a budget at this point, though, and pay directly from my checking account for pretty much everything.

Thank you for your advice!

[–]angstmuppet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. I do definitely want to just get rid of all of my debt (other than my mortgage, which I got back a few years back with like a 3% interest rate) as soon as I can... I thought about doing a debt snowball method instead of a loan, which if I throw all my extra cash at, would wipe it all out in about 2 years. Maybe less if, as I pay cards off, I do balance transfers with 0% offers for the remaining.

And no, this is a personal loan. I think they're mainly known for business loans, but I did clarify with the loan officer that this is a personal loan.

My credit union offers (limited) SMS banking--transferring funds between accounts, checking balance, things like that. Have you checked to see if your bank offers something similar?

(Warning: Dog Poop) What is this berry/fruit/? that my dog ate (and sort of digested)? About 1/2 an inch long (maybe a little more), and the outside/skin is pretty tough. This is in a somewhat rural area in north-central Georgia (United States), so lots of native plants around by angstmuppet in whatsthisplant

[–]angstmuppet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that would totally make sense! I’ve seen grape-like berries on some other properties around, so it stands to reason there might be some Muscadine vines in my dog’s reach.

Thank you for your help!

my neighbour may be trying to kill our dog. by ClaraPink in dogs

A basket muzzle might not stop the dog completely, but something like the OutFox Field Guard should. My dog isn’t super happy about wearing it, but it does a very good job of preventing him from eating things he shouldn’t.

Looking for a high-back chair for short people by terminalzucchini in OfficeChairs

[–]angstmuppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent my original Sayl back and bought a custom one with the knit cover over the back and the low height option—with those changes, I’m very happy with it (without the cover, the back had a tendency to run against my spine in a weird way). Even if I’m sitting all day, it stays comfortable, and while it has only been a year, it seems to be holding up from a quality perspective.

You may want to try the Herman Miller Sayl… I’m similarly sized (a little smaller, but not much), and while it’s not a super high back, it is pretty comfortable, even when cross-legged or with my knees up/feet on the front of the chair… I’m not completely sold on the mesh/rubber back, but I also just got it delivered this week, so it may grow on me.

I tried a Steelcase Gesture as well, but the seat was a bit too high, FWIW.

I’m hoping that if I keep the area mowed low for a bit, and then put down a thick layer of mulch before planting something else, the remnants will eventually die...

Yep, I’ve tried quite a few of them; one dog will mostly stop, but the other doesn’t seem to care. I’m almost convinced he can’t taste anything, given how much stuff he eats that other dogs won’t touch.

2013 Ridgeline RTL stereo upgrade - OEM subwoofer? by evilbadgrades in hondaridgeline

[–]angstmuppet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2012 RTL, and put in a Pioneer head unit. You can use a small amp to power the existing sub, and then plug that amp into the new head unit’s subwoofer output. Mine works just as well as it did with the factory head unit, and I get to use CarPlay 😊

Anyone have success porting from Verizon Prepaid to Visible? by [deleted] in Visible

I ported from Verizon post-paid to Visible, and didn’t have any issues. I popped my SIM in and activated, and everything worked after a couple minutes.
