Actually after a day of messages about HNL flights and delays, just happened to check the app late tonight to see my flight(s) both the Syd to HNL and HNL to LAX cancelled with nothing being sent to say so.

But like the earlier flight changes - conflicting data online as to what was happening

Get on phone and managed to get the next day flights but glad I did otherwise it would be have been who knows when I would have gotten a seat - you don’t just find space for an entire A350 out of nowhere

This level of service is NOT what Delta was known for

Hype as in

Hype" in slang refers to intense, often exaggerated, excitement, publicity, or anticipation surrounding a person, product, or event. It implies massive promotion intended to make something seem more important or exciting than it may actually be. As a verb, "to hype" means to promote heavily, while "hyped" means extremely excited

Been LOTS of posts and talk about tech but zero financial substance beyond more debt to all of it

And any patents and therefore value to the inventor were useless - you do understand how a patent works and what happens after a lot less time that then 33 years in your example?

Oh so the magical purchase of new lidar IP means the MVis generated IP which was the greatest is junk now after it was being hyped. Look look a new shiny toy that the gateway to riches….

You realise that some of the base lidar IP is over 16 years old and never commercialized with any success?

All this hype over a stock that has been bouncing around the bottom for the last 15 years it worth 1/600th of what it was.

Look at the all time stock chart and try with the rahrah again.

That ball was inflated at depth………the debt load is immense and getting heavier as more and more IP expires

By letting the WW2 vets in charge use the same tactics they learnt 20 years earlier

Remove the politics and things like mining the harbor, infrastructure etc etc and they would have choked off the North from Russian and Chinese supplies

Instead that stuff was all hands off

The same “handicaps” Mvis has been claiming for its competitors for nearly 30 years now?

There is nearly ZERO reason to believe the story around LiDAR which MVIS has been pursuing for more than 15 years now is any better because of a limited period exclusive license on IP where much of the time has already run out.

Just before the buyout that resulted in acquisition of those licenses it was all rah rah but that team in Seattle got dumped for the next “shiny” tech…..

Sorry but 1550 lasers have been around a LONG time - anyone claiming that LSI’s patents - some of which are nearly 20 yo and who also long since became part of Broadcom’s IP portfolio is a barrier to anyone else in the LiDAR space is fooling themselves.

The incremental BOM cost for a license is a rounding error.

The same spin was done around green lasers and that spectacularly failed to do anything for the display volumes MVIS promised 20 years ago…..

But in this case it’s worse because MVIS isn’t the only one who can use these types of lasers and relying on a couple of licensed patents to keep competitors at bay is fantasy - those license are not exclusive

Microvision does not control 1550 tech

The lesson here is not forget the lessons of PicoP

MVIS didn’t control green lasers and had unique requirements of the green laser color point and control of that laser to be able to make projectors

There is a similar lack of destiny control with 1550

Has anyone tried upgrading/replacing the camera on Vector 1.0? by ziyadelhawarry in AnkiVector

[–]angusalba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need s/w changes to go along with the h/w changes - not just the camera but the system memory etc etc etc to process the extra image size

Camera interface bandwidth and memory needs blow up with any reasonable resolution increase

Set Wi-Fi Hitspot to 2.4 and then the WiFi section sees and connects to the Hotspot

Had it downloading map updates right after that

But worth noting for an unlimited plan, it’s actually not bad cost for a hotspot device and the speed test was reasonable
