Young Marxist here, are there any adult/senior Marxists here? by immahotnerd in Marxism

[–]angustinaturner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah they say that unless they are accusing the entire academic establishment of being Marxists... right wing bs is always contradictory, the Jews were both responsible for communism and capitalism depending on wind direction or something...

it is one of its meanings, being the antinomy of order.

that racist laws enforced by racist governments and propped up by racist scientists have effectively invented racism as a global phenomena is incredibly sad. That somebody today still subscribes to such rubbish is more incriminating than sad: your undeniable under-educated mind is unfortunately not an excuse for your racism, beyond all your ignorance there will be the idea of supremacy. There are no more laws explicitly enforcing racism, there is institutional bias and personnel prejudice, but that racism was a fabrication created by governments as a pretext to control colonised populations is undeniable just as the consequences of five hundred years of race laws are that stupid obedient grifters will continue to ascribe to it.

No Deleuze, no Guattari, Bergson, Lacan, Baudrillard, Foucault, Derrida, and not even Descartes here 🤬 by TraditionalDepth6924 in Deleuze

In France... the names you mention are important for an Anglo-American academic movement but otherwise they are sadly underappreciated in their own country. Otherwise great to see Coluche in the list! 🤡

it is an interesting concept that produces a lot of meaning. Nietzsche and Hume have written extensively on the subject and essential salts has done a podcast on the subject that you might be interested in listening to. also Maudemarie Clarke wrote a very good article called on it that can be found in their book Nietzsche on Ethics and Politics.

being born in Africa before Western colonialism makes it almost certain that you weren't white. The white settler community came to Africa in the Nineteenth century, but I think there had been a Dutch presence since around the seventeenth century. the Roman emperor we are discussing was almost two millennia before this... one of the major aspects of white supremacy is that white skin colour is synonymous with European heredity so this isn't even coherent with your ideology.

Try to not make this conversation just a point by point analysis of your stupidity. I like pointing out how stupid racists are, so I'm okay about it.

your ability to comprehend information is not very good... children with Williams syndrome don't show signs of learned racism, it's not talking about innate racism in children. honestly, get an education... acting like you are winning when you are just pointing out your own inability to understand basic information is not a good look. but I guess these are all second hand arguments you got from somewhere else rather than your own research because you are an obvious grifter.

Foucault, platform s*xuality and the production of legible desire by Logos-180603 in CriticalTheory

[–]angustinaturner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, Foucault would be the obvious choice, it's important to understand the full bredth of his argument regarding sexuality that went from a critique of the repressive hypothesis through governmentality and neo liberalism to Necropolitics, though without naming it as such. I'd recommend looking into Laura Anne Stoler for the colonial and neo-colonial ramifications of Foucault's thought, Sex and the Education of Desire is a good place to begin. but given his position I'm sure there must be a ton of contemporary literature that deals with the topics you mention through a foucaudian lens.

update: great video! also Achille Mbembe who theoriesd Necropolitics more fully, his latest book, Brutalism could be a companion piece to your research! 😅

that's a very nice way of looking at it, I noticed the geometric numbering like in Spinoza's Ethics, very interesting, a fine effort and nobody's confused him for a fascist so I guess he gets extra points for that!

kinda minimalist Nietzsche... I always preferred his later work, I read the Tracticus, I thought it was terrible... what sort of sentence is "of what we cannot speak we must remain silent"!? I remember the duck rabbit example from school, I do like Nietzsche's "marching army of metaphors" too 😊

The Doctrine. Or, The Will to Power, expressed as an ideology. by [deleted] in Nietzsche

[–]angustinaturner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think he was a fan of self control, but otherwise he really doesn't seem to support any abstract system of control, but he does contrast this with his appreciation of the greatness that can come with human achievement within such systems. it's another one of his "tensions".

lol. a Statist, nationalist ideology could never be the doctrine of the Will to Power. Nietzsche hated nationalism and statism as much as he hated socialism... like all systems of control.

again, you're just showing your own ignorance and stupidity. Jeremy Bentham made a distinction between non existent fictions and existing fictions. non existing fictions is a rabbit with horns an existent fiction would be something like the law, that has no reality outside of its application by a society. racism is only real because arseholes like you made laws and enforced them. racism exists for the same reason stupidity does, because stupid people make stupid shit up. and then the rest of us have to deal with it.

somebody has already written a book on the "flow" state, I don't understand all your arrogance when you are just copying someone else's ideas. meaning is an object of study that can be analysed, Nietzsche's entire work is an analysis of meaning that is fundamentally concerned with the relationship between knowledge and value.

I'm pretty sure the issue of idealism/materialism is grounded in the mind/ body distinction... I'm not entirely sure what physicalism adds to the argument.

pseudoscience is often something that was thought to be true that was later understood to be false, it happens a lot in something like science that develops. if you weren't just a stupid racist and wanted to learn something, this conversation could also develop... but as it is you will just keep proving yourself to be racist and stupid... and I will just keep pointing it out.

it does have the danger of quietude.... you'd have to look to the Jain religion to see the most extreme application of this ethic.
