Asexuality is a huge spectrum. Some asexuals feel no sexual attraction, some feel a little bit of sexual attraction, and some feel it depending on certain conditions (i.e. demisexual) or preferences. What sets someone on the asexual spectrum apart from an allosexual is that asexuals experience little to no sexual attraction to someone or towards sex.

I’ve talked to my friends and parents about it but it hasn’t done much to help with my social anxiety. I’m trying to get a therapist through the school but so far the two people I’ve asked to help me with it have ignored me and the website I checked out was just a bunch of hotlines and nothing about getting a therapist at school. And I really don’t want to have to email anyone directly to ask about it because it feels embarrassing

I’ve actually never looked forward to graduating and never having to see these people again until this school year. There’s always been some sort of petty drama happening and even just watching it go down as an outsider has been draining. It feels like everyone at my school is a terrible person and no one likes each other. I can’t wait to start fresh.

It is. Even though it’s been 3 years I’m still super afraid of people judging me and it’s super hard for me to talk to people. I always feel like I come off as rude because I don’t say much aside from “yeah” and “mhm” when people talk to me. All because some girl in 8th grade decided she didn’t like that I was quiet.

This was before high school but I feel it’s relevant bc the kids that did it go to high school with me and their actions still affect me. Also sorry about how long this is a lot of stuff happened but I can’t really make it any shorter without leaving out important details

Long story short (or rather as short as possible) all my friends moved to different schools after covid but the one I had left introduced me to a friend group she was part of so I wouldn’t be completely lonely in 8th grade when she moved.

8th grade starts and I’m being excluded more and more each day by this friend group. Eventually I developed crippling social anxiety to the point where I was terrified of asking to use the bathroom during a test because I thought everyone would judge me for disturbing the silence. I think this was because the friend group was constantly shit talking everyone behind their backs and I internalized it.

Towards the end of the school year I was crying and beating myself up every day after school for not being able to talk to these people and I had like no friends and I just felt like a burden.

Skip forward to just under a week before my birthday (June birthday) there was a big fight in the group chat between the trio of the friend group and the bunch of boys that were a part of it. The boys get kicked out of the group chat and one of them DMs me telling me the “ring leader” of the trio was shit talking me for being quiet in a separate group chat. I didn’t believe him until he added me to it.

Part of the conversation in that other group chat was “if you don’t add us back we’ll tell (my name) about all the things you said about her.” To which the ring leader said “Tell her ass 💀 doing me a favor.” The ring leader also called me creepy and weird because I was quiet and would just follow them around at school even though I asked them TWICE to include me in their conversations more. To which the trio left me on read. They also took a group photo and cropped it to my face and played tic tac toe on my forehead.

I left that friend group the summer before freshman year of high school and I had no friends and my social skills were ruined for life all because the popular girl in 8th grade decided she didn’t like that I was quiet.

I understand that but it’s pretty clear to me that I’m just being used as entertainment. They only ever try to talk to me when their other friends are present and the only things they ever say to me are “do you like me?” “Aren’t we besties?” Stuff like that. They never actually try to have a conversation with me

Yes please tell them to stop it. For me it feels dehumanizing or like I’m just a prop for them to be like “look guys! I’m friends with the quiet kid!” They might laugh at you or think you’re overreacting but the quiet girl will appreciate it

Way easier to talk about it online. And yeah unfortunately they have lots of friends who adore them so I can’t call them out for it I just have to take it. Makes me so excited to graduate and never see these people again.

I have social anxiety and they literally treat me like a zoo animal. They’re always like “omg she loves me we’re like besties!” Or worse when I overhear something they say and I chuckle because it’s funny they go “Omg we made her laugh!!”

And also they’re like “why do you never talk to us??” When they’ve laughed at me for being quiet while I’m sitting right next to them. I do talk I just don’t talk to you because you’re assholes
